  1. Hello, no I don't have any SATA drivers in my pc right now! I don't have any external drivers either (only keyboard and mouse). Yeah, at some point I might give up or wait for a new bios update maybe? As long as my pc is working it's still a viable situation haha ? As for the ram, I'm not an expert at all so I'm still a bit shy about trying stuff but yeah I'll try to do that thanks! Thanks and of course I'll share my solution if I ever find one
  2. Thank you I'll try the other CPU! Just a silly question, do I have to put thermal paste again if I switch back to the first one after testing? Also yeah could be one stupid detail so I'll try all the steps again I guess :-)
  3. Hello and Happy New year ? Not so long time ago I posted on this forum about my slow boot problem with my new rig. After investigating I realized that the problem was the memory training with the Ryzen 3800x (and Ryzen 3000 in general) The problem is: when I boot I got a solid orange led (DRAM led) during few sec and all the fans are spinning at max speed (gpu and cpu). Then I got red led (cpu solid during like 1sec or 2) then white (vga) and finally green. It's quite fast so my computer is booting in like 25-30sec max in total (Last Bios time is usually between 15 and 20sec to use that as a reference). Once I'm in Windows, everything is working just fine and I don't have any problems (gaming, editing, working, watching...). here is my config: GPU: Evga 2070 Super XC gaming CPU: AMD Ryzen 3800X SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 1TB Motherboard: Asus X570 Tuf Wifi RAM: 2x16gb Gskill Trident Z Neo F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC PSU: Corsair RMX 750 (2018) FYI: - I used the XMP (3600) profile on my ram but I tried to set it up manually or even to run the default settings it doesn't change anything. - Ram is on slot 2 & 4 (I tried 1 and 3). - This is the second ram I tried, before I was using a different model which was not on my QVL (I know who cares about the QVL but I read Ryzen are very picky about ram so... why not) - I flashed my bios to the latest version. I also cleared the CMOS and installed fresh version of Windows. - All my drivers are up to date. - Amazon sent me a replacement for my 3800X but I didn't try it yet since I don't have any reasons to believe the first one is dysfunctional but maybe I'm wrong? - CSM is disabled and fast boot enabled. Also this problem is totally random but happens often "the next day" like I turn off my computer I go to sleep and when I start it in the morning I got the problem. During the day, weirdly I don't always have this problem when I start to boot or reboot (like the fans are not spinning and I don't get the solid orange led for the dram) and last bios time is like 10 or 11sec which way more acceptable for me. Some of you will probably tell me booting in 20-25sec is not biggie since everything is working just fine once in Windows but I paid a lot of money for this new rig so it's important for me to at least understand. Thank you in advance for your help
  4. Basically all those are lighting on during boot but the DRAM is always the first (orange) sometimes it's a solid orange and no boot. Technically it looks like it's a ram's problem but why the others one are lighting on one by one right after then? Anyway thank you for your help!
  5. Yep it's very frustrating that nobody knows including Asus support about those lights... I'm not sure I have the knowledge or the material to ever find out haha... Amazon sent me a new CPU maybe I should try this guy too to see if there is any difference. New ram is coming in few days!
  6. Alright I tried everything but new sticks of ram... I'll buy some ram since I found out that the orange led is related to the ram! Asus is telling me to make sure I try ram from the QVL of my mobo but I never thought it would be that important...
  7. Yeah I guess I could try with a diffrent PSU but don't think it's the issue here! Thank you for the post, I'll have a look if I can get some infos ?
  8. Yeah maybe you're right and I could do sleep mode instead of shuting down everytime if that start to bothers me... But the no boot is a real problem, it's rare but when that happened I got a solid orange light and my only option is to restart until it's working!
  9. The RAM is RGB and always takes 2 or 3 sec to light on when I boot, I don't know if that helps! (I ran two memtest and everything seemed good)
  10. Should I try to flash again? I cannot downgrade the version tho... Also I'll read more the manual but so far couldn't get the info I needed. Oh wow, that sounds serious... In that case, is it fixable?
  11. Yes they are in slots 2 and 4 (before it was not the case but when I switched them I noticed a small improvement). Also when I disabled the xmp profile it boots slightly faster (with default frequence and voltage) but I still see all the light (orange, red, white, green) it's just faster!
  12. Hello, I'm very new at building computer and this one is my first one so I'd really appreciate some help here because I'm getting desperate. So basically here is my config: Asus X570 Tuf Wifi AMD Ryzen 3800X Gskill Trident Z 3200 (2X16GB) - NOT on the QVL from my motherboard (sadly) Corsair RMX 750 (2018) Samsung 970Evo 1TB Everything once I boot is working great... My CPU is around 40-45C IDLE which is not amazing but I assume it's ok with stock fan. But when I boot (and it's totally random) I get first a solid orange light then red, white and finally green when it's booting "properly" (I know it's not). And sometimes (especially when the computer has been turn off long period) I got a solid orange light and it's like cold boot / no boot... Just to let you know, I updated the bios from 1005 to 1405 and first I got some blue screens, so I tried default bios options and reinstalled Windows. Now I'm able to start and use my computer with no blue screens at all but the problems when I boot are still there (last BIOS time is around 15-25sec with CSM disabled and fast boot enabled). I also use my ram XMP profile because using the default frequence is not working any better so why not... (3200) At first I thought it was a problem with my ram but right now I'm not so sure anymore... I tried with 1 stick and switch the slots etc... nothing changed. I also tried to reset the CMOS but the bios version is still 1405 (but when I did try, the blue screen suddenly stopped)... Anyway sorry for the long post but I really don't know what to do... Hope someone can helps! Thank you and have a great day ?
