  1. I would really like to see what you would throw on there, I haven't built a new computer in a while and the whole VRM tunning is a new thing to me. I was basically selecting what the website offered me, I don't care about RGB.
  2. yeah 5950x would be an option definately, the price is not that far, so basically, need a MBO for 5950x, and 64/128Gb RAM.
  3. I want to build a computer around AMD Ryzen 9 3950X with 64 -to- 128 Gb of RAM memory. Computer used for 3d/video editing. GPU is probably going to be Nvidia RTX 3000 something, I'm stuck on the motherboard and RAM manufacture choice. Anyone got any experience or suggestion to help build this ? Thanks
  4. My main concern with tomahawk is the amount of PCI-e. I have 2 GPU that run 4 monitors. I have to slot in M2 disk and 2 GPU I need 3 PCI-E slots. Incase 1 day I want to go for PCIE4 adapter and run 2xm2 disks in RAID. Also, reason behind 128Gb ram is I do alot of 3d simulation and graphic editing, my RAM gets eaten quickly, 128Gb is a big jump and trust me, it gets spent easily when you do Phoenix FD fluid simulations... Issue with Ryzen supported MBO is they only got 4 Ram slots, a bit of a letdown, I currently use Intel have 8 memory slots, if you go 2x32, you cap at 64Gb RAM.
  5. if I would have Ryzen 3950x as a build base, and I'd need 128Gb Ram, what MBO would I get and what RAM. I see lots of 128Gb Ram configs popup up in last 2-3 months. MBO Price Range 350-500 EUR this is like an estimate: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TTRK9G
  6. Croatia, purpose is 3d simulation, rendering and video editing. As time progresses, I will invest in newer GPU, I all ready have 2 Computers that I will use for render slaves and basically a NAS. Reason why I use 2GPU is basically I have 3x32" monitors and 1x 50" widescreen Dell monitor setup
  7. Need some help on CPU cooler, what to choose, I think MBO is perfect, maybe cool the RAM also ? PCIE Riser is to move GPU away for cooling, gonna put 10TB Raid Mirror, Later on I'll get another Sabrent Rocket 4 and try make M.2 Raid Mirror via PCIE 4 PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 3.5 GHz 16-Core Processor €797.99 @ Mindfactory CPU Cooler Thermaltake Floe Riing RGB 360 TT Premium Edition 42.34 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler €174.89 @ Aquatuning Motherboard Gigabyte X570 AORUS MASTER ATX AM4 Motherboard €391.89 @ Mindfactory Memory G.Skill Ripjaws V 128 GB (4 x 32 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory €650.00 Storage Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Purchased For €0.00 Storage Sabrent Rocket 4.0 2 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive €419.94 @ Amazon Deutschland Storage Seagate BarraCuda Pro 10 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive €285.45 @ Mindfactory Storage Seagate BarraCuda Pro 10 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive €285.45 @ Mindfactory Video Card Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11 GB Blower Video Card (2-Way SLI) Purchased For €0.00 Video Card Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11 GB Blower Video Card (2-Way SLI) Case Thermaltake Tower 900 ATX Full Tower Case Purchased For €0.00 Power Supply Corsair 1200 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply €379.90 @ Corsair DE Operating System Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OEM 64-bit Case Fan Thermaltake Pure 12 ARGB TT Premium Edition 56.45 CFM 120 mm Fans €52.99 @ Amazon Deutschland Headphones Audio-Technica M50x Headphones €128.00 @ Amazon Deutschland Custom Thermaltake AC-045-CN1OTN-C1 PCI Express Extender, PCIE 16X, 300mm Kabel schwarz €64.89 @ Aquatuning Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total €3631.39 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-01-16 19:05 CET+0100
  8. What if I do a different Raid setup, let's say Raid1. I get 8Tb M2 with 8Gb/s speed, the question is, do I get that performance. I mean switching to threadripper, completely changes the costs of things. For some reason, on pcpacker The Thermaltake Tower 900 is not compatible with Gigabyte TRX40 Aorus Xtreme, I dont get it, you can fit 2 a small child in that PC Case, it's a size of a dishwasher... Besides, threadripper 3960x is about 15% faster than ryzen 3950x but it's double the cost, the only benefit is MBO goes 256 Gb Ram witch I can take advantage off...
  9. https://geizhals.eu/gigabyte-trx40-aorus-xtreme-a2177018.html ? but then 3950x Ryzen is out of the game, what to put in there ? I really love that CPU.
  10. I'm also thinking dumping 2xGpu and getting a single PNY Quadro RTX8000 in there...
  11. is there a motherboard on the market, perhaps x570 MSI Godlike, that could do the job ?
  12. I think this warrants, contacting the manufacturer support... problem is, trial and error out of my own pocket, nobody has done this, i mean, we're not talking about brutal speeds, we're talking LABORATORY LEVEL SPEED
  13. Gigabyte X570 AORUS XTREME EATX AM4 (I don't see anything even close on the horizon) to be loaded with 2x GPU and 1x Raid adapter stacked with 4x M.2 here is the preemptive load out (the other m.2 is a filler): https://de.pcpartpicker.com/user/critical111/saved/rksYgs
  14.
