  1. Thank you - that's a little worrying. We basically cleared away what we could see right away, but to be honest, that wasn't a big area to begin with. I'm hoping most of the sweat went on the backplate, and that I imagined the sweat going onto the motherbaord itself. Like I said above though, I checked with a torch and couldn't see sweat on the back of the board.
  2. Well definitely not like that! I don't think I saw any moisture. I shone a torch over it, and it looked pretty clear to ne.
  3. Hello! When installing the CPU stock cooler, I found it quite difficult and so I got pretty nervous, to the point of making the back of the motherboard a bit sweaty on the backplate and around it. I've tried to wipe most of it off with a tissue, but I'm just wondering now how long to wait before I can turn the system on?, i.e. to avoid possible shorts. I'm from the UK so it's not the warmest temperature right now. Thank you!
  4. Hello! I just wanted to make sure I'm doing this properly, as I unfortunately don't have an antistatic wrist strap right now. My current plan is to screw a PSU into a case, and then plug it into the wall socket, with BOTH the PSU switch and the wall socket switch set to off. Is this okay? Will it still ground properly? Thank you!
  5. Hello! I am planning on buying the MSI B450-A PRO MAX mATX motherboard. I have a Ryzen 5 3600, and am planning on using the stock cooler that comes with it. However, from looking at images on Amazon, I am concerned that the stock cooler might make the motherboard too crowded to put my RAM in their slots. PCPartPicker also issued a note saying that there could be issues, but it didn't know the exact dimensions. What do you guys think? Thank you Amazon Link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-B450-PRO-MAX-Motherboard/dp/B07W837QSF/ My PC's Specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 Motherboard: To be decided! RAM: 16GB 3200MHz DDR4 Storage: 240GB SSD, 1TB Hard Drive Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660Ti Case: Corsair SPEC-DELTA RGB Power Supply: Corsair TX-M 650W
  6. I'm about to buy the MSI B450M Mortar Max motherboard, and I just wanted to double check if it would work with my Nvidia Geforce GTX 1660Ti? It seems like it would, but compared to other motherboards, the Mortar has: 1x PCI-E x16 2x PCI-E GEN 1x PCI-E X1 I'm not very experienced with what this means, but I just see smaller numbers than the Tomahawk has, so I got a little concerned. Thank you!
  7. I purchased a motherboard from Amazon that said it supported Ryzen 3rd gen, and so my Ryzen 3600. Link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-B450M-PRO-M2-Socket-Motherboard/dp/B07FQB4X3M/ However, it has arrived with the packaging saying 'AMD Ryzen 2000 Desktop Ready', i.e. there is no '3000 Desktop Ready' On the other hand, I've also heard that the contents of the box can be more updated than the packaging. Do you think my Ryzen 3600 will be compatible with the arrived motherboard? Thank you!
  8. Just to make sure everything is as safe as posible! I get nervous about these things
  9. I want to make sure that my case is connected to the earth pin of my PSU plug. I plan to do this by using a multimeter and putting one probe on the case, and the other on the earth pin of the PSU plug, and setting the multimeter mode to continuity testing. However, I understand that this applies a voltage across the probes - could this be dangerous to do, e.g. could it damage components of the PSU or components inside the case etc? Would it also be safe to do this on a computer that had been turned on before? I'm not sure if there'd perhaps be any issues with the PSU caps. Thank you!
  10. Thank you! How might you compare the two PSU's, apart from their power supply rating and price? From what I can tell, they're both of similar quality.
  11. Hello! I originally purchased Corsair's VS550, but I have been put off by the reviews of it being dangerous/brekaing quickly, and I've seen it placed pretty low on a few tier lists. I bought it because the Amazon reviews looked good (oops), and the price was also within my budget. I'm currently looking at Corsair's TX650M to buy to replace it, as it was rated in Tier A on the tier list below, but I would rather not make the mistake of going purely by Amazon reviews again, so I would really appreciate any advice or recommendations of other PSU's. It might also be worth mentioning that safety is a big concern for me. Ideally, I'd prefer if the price of the PSU did not stray too far from the TX650M's price, i.e. 70GBP or 93USD. Just as a side question, do all the cables come with the TX650M? (Not used to modular PSUs) Thank you!
