  1. so i have done all of the above. 1. removed the GPU 2. was able to get picture using the onboard integrated gfx. 3. still would not load past the bios. 4. ran repair tool more then once with no change. 5. i did something with rebuilding the MFT and or MBR using the cmd promt following a youtube guild. 6. no change after a restart. 7. after several restarts PC loads past the BIOS and i and able to load windows. 8. restarted this 5-6 times and every time was able to boot to windows. 9. success however im still not 100% sure on what i actually did that got it to boot to windows. 10. refitted the GPU and started up. got no picture at all after 4 attempts to start the PC. 11. removed GPU again and using onboard gfx i was able to get picture. 12. onboard gfx would not work while the GPU was fitted. conclusion: still no idea what fixed the boot drive SSD Looks like GPU is dead. trying to obtain a 2nd hand working GPU and a friend to possibly test my GPU in there system to see if it works. P.S. a friend told me that i could buy his 2nd hand GTX 1080 very cheap do you think there would be any compatibility issues with the current components? Thanks Tombfoot & PopsicleHustler for your input and help much appreciated
  2. yes correct the BIOS can see the SSD that the OS is on but cant find the OS when trying to boot past the BIOS. ill try a fresh windows install in the morning.
  3. yes when i striped the system i checked for all those things and was unable to find anything out of place tho it possible that i could have missed something
  4. GPU was my first thought but i decided to ignore that as i didn't think that a GPU would completely stop the computer from booting to windows. I have just done what you said and removed the GPU and i have managed to get picture with the integrated gfx so looks like GPU may be dead. i just have the issue now of the PC unable to boot past the bios as for some reason it can not find the OS. i made sure the correct boot drive was selected in the bios but no change.
  5. Hi anyone that might be able top help me, last night and for some time leading up to my PC breaking i have not had any issues. this morning i go turn on my PC only for it to post to the screen that i will show in the 1st pic. i then proceed to run the repair option only for it to fail the repair. since then i have been unable to get the PC to post at all. i spent the rest of the day attempting to troubleshoot. after opening the side up i could smell a very faint but distinct smell of burnt / overheated electronics at which point i decided to strip everything from the PC case down to individual components inc removing the CPU. I inspected all the components and wires to the best of my ability and cant find anything that looks burnt or melted, I also sniffed everything to find the cause of the smell to no avail. at this point I have decided to put everything back together and start up. computer starts up and dose its usual boot thing however not displaying anything on the screen. i now have 2 diff Qcodes displaying on the mobo d7, A2 i have looked up these codes and tried to troubleshoot these but no dice. I also have 2 separate LED indicator lights on the mobo, BIOS1 and boot drive LED. however i am not sure if they were present before my issue this morning. Hopefully i have not left out any information. plz note that all components in this PC were part of the original build 7-8 years ago. i feel like i would be better off building a new system however this one did everything i wanted it to do. I appreciate any help that anyone may be able to provide. PS. the CPU fan speed error on the pic has been there since i built the system. I regularly inspected the fans were operational and could never work out why i had this error.
