  1. I am looking to get a secondary monitor to use with my surface pro 9 for work and school (always nice to have the second screen for things) and I am not sure what would be a good choice for one. After looking through some options on amazon they seem to vary in price and quality a bit, but I can't really tell what the major differences are. I don't need anything really fancy, just an additional screen for spreadsheets, pdfs, instructional youtube videos. Since it is for work and school I won't be using it for anything like watching movies, TV shows, or gaming. One thing that would be nice is if it has touchscreen, but it is not a requirement. I am looking at a price range of $150-$200 with some flexibility. Thanks!
  2. I am looking at laptops for work/school/art design. I get a really good deal through work for Lenovo and found this laptop. ThinkPad L13 Yoga Gen 2 Intel (13”) - Black I am wondering if this would be good for what I am looking for. The specs do look good for the processor and memory, and comes with a good amount hard drive space. It also has the touch pen which should be good for any graphic design and 3D modelling. Thing is I don't know anything about ThinkPad, so just looking if anyone knows whether they are reliable and last a long time (given proper care of course).
  3. Cool thanks for the info. Having to get a sperate drawing tablet would be kinda sucky as most of what I would do is hand drawn with a stylus pen.
  4. Hi all, I am looking for a laptop to use for school/work as well as digital art. I have been looking at 2 in 1s that are digital pen compatible, but not sure how well these will work compared to a traditional laptop. I have a desktop PC that I use for gaming so there isn't any need for intensive game specs. Any suggestions would be awesome to get me in the right direction. I am hoping to keep it under $1000 CAD (P.S. I get deals through Lenovo through my work, so if there is something in that line up it will help me keep the cost down)
  5. I was thinking in the $200$300 price range. I would guess right now just new computer speakers would already be a step up, but if there is something like that for under $200 that sounds like a great deal. Down the road I might consider looking into something with more quality audio, but for now just a simple upgrade is good.
  6. I am looking to upgrade my current TV sound system from clunky old desktop speakers to something of much better quality. I know little to nothing about sound systems so any help will be much appreciated. I live in a small basement suite so something that won't cause too much noise and vibration for tenants above me would be great. From what I have researched I think a good sound bar with a sub woofer would fit well for me, but as I do not know much maybe there is a better option. I am looking at mid price range, but willing to fork out more if it is worth the quality and life span.
  7. Ya what you suggest is looking a lot like what I was thinking of. I'll just have to put together a quick build and see how much it comes out to and go from there. Thanks a bunch for the help guys!!
  8. She does private lessons, not in classes. I did ask her if a laptop would be better, but she already has one thats good enough when she needs to be mobile. It is the home computer where she does most of the work that needs the upgrade.
  9. Budget (including currency): $1000 Country: Canada So my mom is looking to upgrade her work station as it's not quite working anymore. She is a music teacher and needs it for her work. She is looking for something that can handle her workload of streaming, data transfers, video and music converting, and anything else that is require when teaching either in person or online. As said above she is looking to have it in the $1000 dollar range and lives in Canada so that will have to be considered when pricing out. I am going to start a bit of a build myself for her, but due to work and personal stuff I do not have much time to do it, so I am hoping the community can help me out and get something figured out for her a bit quicker. Thanks a ton to whoever can help me out!!
  10. Hey everyone, sorry I was not sure where to put this post. So I am looking into getting myself a smart watch. I plan to use it mostly for fitness tracking/help, but also would use it for work as well so (I am an electrician) so one that is a good balance of light and accessible while also tough and would break or die on me from some rougher use. I know next to nothing about smart watches so I need help with just finding a good place to start. I would prefer one that has storage for music as well so I do not have to lug my phone around for going on a run, kayaking, etc. I have have a samsung phone so it will have to be one that is compatible with it or just more designed for it so it is not a pain to try and use the two together Thanks for any help! I am quite lost on this sort of stuff.

  13. Hey guys, I'm looking for new wireless earbuds that have decent range for connectivity. I will be using them for working out (at home workouts as due to the gyms being closed right now) but I would also like to use them for when I am outside playing soccer. I don't want to be carrying my phone in my pocket during it so if there is something out there that has good range for that sort of stuff that would be great. Thanks for any help!
  14. Hey guys and gals, I am a PC gamer and have recently got a few games that are built to be played with a controller instead of a keyboard and mouse. Problem is I have rarely used controllers so I do not know what to look for or what would be the best for me. I would prefer a wireless one for the normal reasons, but not set on only wireless. If the wired ones are just all around better than I am good with them. I would be play these games through my computer so it would need to be one that can be synced to my PC. Any suggestion on where to start to look would be great as I have little to no idea for what to look for. Cheers!!
  15. I ordered a new PC from memory express a bit ago and have been waiting for it to arrive. Today I received an email from them asking me for extra info for verification such as government issued ID and a bill of some sort (phone bill for example) This is the first time I have ordered something from memory express, is this par for the course with them? Or is this a red flag that I should be careful about?
  16. lol cool, do you know how as I do not I am running on windows 10
  17. Is it possible to have multiple display connected to one PC and have each display run in different resolutions? I have a 1440p 144 hz monitor as well as a 1080p 60 hz TV I am running them with the displays being duplicated instead of connected
  18. So I just got a new ASUS VG27A Monitor which has 144Hz refresh rate (165Hz when overclocked) The problem is that once I got it all plugged in I noticed that it was locked at 60Hz right away, after a little investigation I figured out that the reason it had locked it at 60Hz was because I also have my TV connected to the same PC, but the PC has a max refresh of 60Hz, preventing the new monitor from utilizing its full potential. So now the question I am afraid to know the answer to, am I screwed and need to either buy a new monitor with a higher refresh rate to match the monitor? Or is there by some chance a way to get around the auto lock from the TV so I can use the monitor at full refresh while still connected to the 60Hz TV? Thanks for any help!?
  19. ok thanks! got a little of topic, but I do appreciate the advice either way ?
  20. I have a 1440p 144Hz monitor I do alot of gaming, but I do venture into editing and other stuff that the extra threads of the AMD nice to have
