  1. Thank you both, I agree with @Plouffe and would personally go with this build but she is adamant that if she is paying this much she wants it to "look nice" and argues she doesn't want to play AAA titles on maximum settings. I appreciate the input from both of you! I think I will go with @boggy77's build simply due to the looks, I guess they can always upgrade the GPU in the future if they need too...
  2. Hi all, I've built a fair few PC's but I am quite out of the loop in relation to the current hardware, and someone has asked me to build them a gaming PC within their budget (around £900 on the PC, £1100 Max with peripherals) to play WoW, run Nintendo Emulators, light code compilation etc; their current Macbook Air doesn't quite cut it and they're just getting into PC gaming. They ideally want an mITX build or small mATX at a push. I have come up with the following build but I am unsure as of yet if there are any cost saving mesaures or recomended improvements to this build. They do care about looks and want an all black theme with some RGB lights for colour (trying to talk them into Cablemod cables too). Could anyone please advise? We are based in the UK. Also, does anyone know if the h200i comes with pre-installed RGB lights? 3. What about these two? Ignoring the price difference (I can get the thinkpad a little cheaper) which of these two would you guys choose? Is the keyboard the same on both laptops does anyone know? As I heard the thinkpad range has the best keybaords. Plus the thinkpad is very easily upgradeable. http://www.ebuyer.com/700316-lenovo-thinkpad-edge-e550-laptop-20df004uuk http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/lenovo-z51-15-6-laptop-black-10134863-pdt.html
  4. I did check that video, but none of them are viable for the money. The only one I could even consider is the Yoga 3 but for the money you're really not getting much. I see. Thanks! Any other suggestions?
  5. Thanks foe the suggestion! What's the keyboard like to type on? Is there a nice amount of key travel? Also what is the battery like?
  6. Hi all. I just started back at college for another 2 years and have had enough of fighting for a laptop in the library or getting a half-charged 13 inch laptop from my college. I decided to buy a laptop to use at college, while I am away from my PC at home. I will be using it for working on MS office documents, programming (visual studio, web storm) and some VERY light Photoshop (making simple logos etc). I have roughly £650 to spend but would be willing to go to £700 if it was REALLY worth it. The keyboard is really important to me for obvious reasons, I can't stand mushy cheap keyboards. And an SSD is not too important to me as I can always swap one in from my desktop or buy one at a later date and I'd really like a 15" screen. I'd appreciate any help with this as I am not familiar with the current laptop market! Thanks!
  7. I had an interest in this a few years ago and still do. Learn to code web applications before you even start. You're going to need to know all the different languages, frameworks etc inside out if you want to break them. Start with HTML + CSS, PHP with JavaScript and obviously SQL.
  8. I have the 970 and blast through all games at max settings. Seriously if the price jump is that bad I' d get the 970.
  9. What is stopping someone from doing this without Amazon's service?
  10. Thanks for advice all. I will be buying a controller specifically for driving/flying . M + KB can be for fights etc I bought this the other day and have just returned it to Amazon, hated it. I'd try it before you buy if I were you, and make sure you like non-mechanical keys too
  11. So, seeing as we will be getting GTA V finally I m debating weather to buy an xbox one controller for my PC. I have not played any games like GTA for PC, I only played them for console when I was a peasant. I was wondering if any of you guys prefer controllers for games like this, particularly the driving?
  12. Can't buy it 'till I get paid on Friday... Lucky I have 100Mb/s.
  13. Ah fair enough, I'll just use their pre-paid label then. I am hurting for cash atm lol; but I can wait I guess. Now to see if the post office is open today.
  14. I am about to return something to amazon as I don't like it at all (logitech G13). I got a pre-paid return label but was wondering if anyone knew how fast the item usually arrives to amazon. I am sending from London to Fife in Scotland but am debating weather to pay for first class delivery so I can get my refund quicker
  15. Right. Thanks all. I have got Selenium working and am going to give it a shot... It's a text based game so this should work easily with Selenium now it is all up and running
