  1. OK so now I'm just thinking the 8350 coolers design just sucks. I am running the wraith stealth now and my max temp for the same scenario hand break 4k encode is 75c. The 8350 temp doing the same thing was 73c! I have no idea how a cooler twice the size can perform almost within margin of error with the wraith stealth.
  2. Yea the bottom and front of the case has dust filters and all that. That's why I didn't wanna put intake fans on the top cause of dust especially since my case has a glass side panel and you can see into it. And before someone asks no the case does not have glass in the front or top just the side that you see into. Where the fans are is open to the fresh air.
  3. I'm going by this post on the internet it seems to make sense. What do you think? https://www.neweggbusiness.com/smartbuyer/over-easy/pc-cooling-how-to-set-up-computer-case-fans/
  4. How would it make a negative pressure? Just asking cause I thought if I had 3 intakes and 3 exhausts that the pressure would be near equal and the flow would be directed toward the CPU since the exhaust fans would be near the CPU.
  5. I don't want to put them as intake fans cause there is no dust filter on the top of my cause would it be OK to install them as exhaust?
  6. Reason being is I assumed it would be better due to the size and heat pipes.
  7. I just bought the r5 2600 and I used my old cooler from my fx 8350. The cooler has a coper base and 4 heat pipes. I replaced the stock 80mm fan with the fan from the wraith stealth and have it at max rpm 2600rpm. My issue is that when looking at reviews of the wraith stealth it seems like it gets better cooling than this much larger heat sink. My temps are while gaming with the witcher 3 average about 63c. When doing a hand break render it averages about 75c and this is all with the fan speed set to max. I am also using arctic silver 5 thermal paste and I have plenty of paste but not too much. I basically used what I always do when putting thermal paste on and never had a problem with it before. My main concern is that when I look at the reviews I am seeing much better temps with the wraith stealth even though its a much smaller cooler. Also note my case has three 120mm fans blowing in from the front and one 120mm blowing out from the back. It also has spots for 2 more 120mm fans at the top but I need to install them yet. I don't think they will help much but I'm gonna install them anyways. Thanks and I hope someone can shed some light on my situation.
  8. Yea that's what I thought as well. As far as user error goes I know it was not me that did anything cause I only ever touch the drive to do backup and such. Possibly a program I was using had an issue I could see that. Thanks for all the advice and help ?
  9. Yea that's all I could think of as well. I was on Linux for about a year and a half with this system and the reason why I was confused about the drive initially was it just deleted stuff off of it without me doing anything. I had all my backups and stuff on this drive and than poof one day they were gone. I tried to put the files back on thinking it was a fluke but than days later again the drive said nothing was on it. I went back to windows and so far everything has been really good now surprisingly.
  10. yea i did a defrag and than when that didn't work i did a 0 on the disk.
  11. This is what the drives access is like with my imagining software running and 0 noise.
  12. I have done every test I can think of with the drive and everything says it is fine. I wish it was just fragmented but I have tried defragging the drive wiping and copying all the contents back. I am at a loss. I am not worried about data loss because the drive is part of a 3 drive backup system I have so no worries in that department. I just wanted to get some possible definitive proof if it was dieing or just being itself lol. I know I shouldnt buy referb drives I really do but the deal on it was so so good lol. plus its my 3rd drive so im not all that worried about it dieing.
  13. I bought a refurbished Hitachi HDD about 2 years ago now. About 6 months ago when accessing it, it will make a horrible clicking noise, but only when accessing certain files. I can use Macrium Reflect to make a image backup of the Hitachi drive but no sound is made, totally silent. On the other hand If I try to import skyrim mods that are in .zip format it will click like mad. The clicking happens when either writing or reading from the drive but as stated before only with certain files. Hope Someone Can Help! Thanks!
  14. Yea unfortunately I bought the first G-Sync monitor it actually wasn't a G-Sync when I got it I actually replaced the circuit board to upgrade it to G-Sync.
  15. This is the one I was looking at. I just wanted to know others opinions on the matter. Right now with my current CPU it makes no sense to do an GPU upgrade but I cannot fork out 450$ to upgrade my system plus another 250$ or so for a graphics card.
