my cpu just does not boost above 4300 mhz. like ever. well, one time nzxt cam told me it hit 4577mhz but i have a feeling, like my first wife, it was lying to me. so i just use it to control lights and fans haha. i know this is a known issue but some people seem to have found success, i have not. i cant get a straight answer about one thing. currently, im running a b450 motherboard. if i upgrade to an x470/x570, would this issue resolve itself?
things ive tried: auto oc, pbo, both, ryzen balanced, ryzen high performance, 1usmus power plan, updated my bios to the newest AGESA 1.0.0.4 and probably some other nonsense. im pretty sure it isnt a thermal issue. even though im using an itx case, my noctua nhd15 keep temps in check. hardly even gets above 60*. it hit 63* one time and i got concerned but thats about it.
im not sure what else to do. i reached out to amd and they werent very helpful and seemed rather annoyed with the fact that im complaining about 100mhz. but its 100mhz that i paid. their suggestion was the restart my computer, close everything running in the background. only open hwinfo and cinebench r15. run cinebench and i should see my cpu boost properly. and to be honest, i dont think i should only be able to stare at hwinfo while boxes dance around my screen to observe my cpu reaching the advertised speeds that i paid for. it is making me want to sell everything and switch back to intel.
anyway, specs just because?
ryzen 5 3600x
noctua nh-d15 chromax.black(if you wanna see how that looks in an itx case, let me know haha)
asrock fatality b450 gaming itx
rtx 2070 super founders edition
gskill trident z rgb 3200mhz (oc to 3600mhz+IF)
nzxt h210i
