  1. Hey guys, I'm in the process of doing a new workstation build. I was wanting to run 2x Samsung - 970 PRO 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD's is RAID 1 as the boot drive. Problem is there's only one M.2 Slot on the motherboard. I don't want to get into an argument over running SSD's in RAID 1. SSD's can and do fail, I've personally had it happen. My aim is not to protect data, it's redundancy - ie. eliminating downtime. Nothing but the OS and software will be on these. All data is on a server. Even using an image, depending on how recent it is, it still takes way to much time to get up again, along with waiting for a new drive to be shipped etc. Been there done that. I guess I'm looking for a RAID controller PCIe card, and looking for suggestions, or even suggestions on a better way to do it. One option I'd looked at was the ASUS Hyper M.2 x16 Card Expansion. Looks like amazing bang for the buck, just not sure it will work for my setup. Relevant Stytem info: - OS will be Windows 10 - Motherboard is a Supermicro X11DAI-N-O Dual LGA3647 - CPU's 2x Intel Xeon 6148 20-Core 2.4 GHz (3.7 GHz Turbo) LGA 3647 - GPU is a PNY Quadro RTX 4000 VCQRTX4000-PB 8GB - SSD's will be Samsung - 970 PRO 1TB NVMe M.2
