  1. My fiance has a desktop and i put my graphics card in there and it just said i needed the drivers to be installed for it to work so yea thats good and the ram still works. I did think it was just the mobo but when i used my hdd to boot on her computer it black screened again, so i guess i ruined that too... Its a good thing all in all because ive wanted to replace my mobo and processor for a while ( i used to have a amd a8 5800) but now i have an fx 8350 black so its all good. thanks for the help guys and gals
  2. I didn't put the jumper block back on the bios pins after reassembling my computer and then booted up... at first my monitor wouldnt respond... then i realised my error and fitted the jumper then rebooted and i cant access the sys bios or anything just black screened no matter what i do. I have brought a new processor, mobo and harddrive. However i'm wondering it it damaged the ram and graphics card. The fan on my graphics card still spins so i hope that's a good sign and i have no clue about the ram untill i fit my new parts when they arrive.
  3. The more ram the merrier yes its overkil and yes its more than most And the 750ti was brought because i put it in a shitty old hp desktop thing and it worked haha only a 300w psu at the time too
  4. The case, ram, gpu and i forgot to mention the corsair cx430m psu are all things that i had in my computer previously but i messed up my motherboard and hdd. So i have to get new ones and a new processor because why not and obviously and os too... now being in england the exchange rate or how much things cost in america compared to here means that we are getting ripped off over here and money is not exactly easy to come by so this is not to my "taste" either but its the best i can get due to offers on at the minute.
  5. Im not a fan of the case either but it was brand new free and goes with the black and green led desk i built so yea... saves me £100
  6. Case: sharkoon t28 green Motherboard: gigabyte 970a-ds3p amd 970 am3+ Processor: amd fx6300 black edition 4.1ghz am3+. Ram: 16gb corsairs vengance. Gpu: EVGA gtx 750ti sc Hdd: wd black 1tb sata
  7. Yea i live in the uk so ill probably just look on amazon and yea i was thinking of getting a better motherboard to go with i just thought other people who know more than i do would have a better idea then mine thanks for all your help guys/gals
  8. So recently i pretty much wrecked my motherboard and hdd by starting the computer up without having the jumper on the bios pins... So long story short im getting a new fm2+ amd a75 motherboard, a wd 1tb caviar black hdd and i thought i may aswell get a new processor as im installing windows 8 into the system again. My guess was an amd a10 5800k but if anyone has any other ideas id love to know . Current usable components are. sharkoon t28 green case. Amd a8 5500. Evga gtx 750ti sc 2gb. 16gb corsairs vengance ram. Cosairs cx430m psu. Bog standard optical drive. Also if you know of any motherboard, cpu/apu and hdd that would be better (pricewise and for gaming) and still compatable with my current specs then please share
  9. Yes i did and nothing was different..And oh well more expense Thanks for all your help guys
  10. I tried starting my pc with nothing attatched apart from 8gb of ram installed and thats it. And yes thats the mb. I also dont use xbox controllers on my pc i only play bf4 and various rts and tbs games so i never used one . But i have also tried with no usb at all and its all the same So i guess if all else fails ill replace my motherboard with an asrock fm2 a75 fch pro. Which leaves me to my next question... with using a brand new mb will i be able to boot windows 8 into it using my usb stick recovery drive ?
  11. I cant do a reinstall of windows as i dont have a install disk only a recovery usb. I have never used and know nobody that uses linux and i have stripped the old hp case to the bare metal are reinstalled everything to the mb and still no luck. And i have done ive moved the jumper from pins 1 and 2 to pins 2 and 3 on both the cmos and bios and nothing has changed.. I just remembered the bios jumper wasnt on any pins when i first started up my my pc so i guess that that effed my mb
  12. So I recently brought a sharkoon t28 green (great case also). And I've had a hp p6 2469ea desktop computer for around a year. I've made these upgrades besides the case; EVGA gtx 750ti sc graphics card. Corsair cx430m psu. And 16gb corsair vengance ram. My computer was working perfectly until i swapped everything into my new case -.- and now when it starts up it gets stuck at the hp icon and goes no further, It wont even let me enter the bios it just freezes there. I have tried the following fixes; Remove ram.. clean.. reinstall. Take out cmos battery. Leaving the whole system 48 hours then trying. Unplugging all extra power take ups. Using my recovery usb. Wiring absolutley everything off the hp back in. And pulling the power cable and holding the power switch down. But still nothing. Now i have tried my hdd in my gfs compute which is the exact same original pc and it wont boot up anything at all. But even when i take my hdd out and try running the computer i get the same problem. Also i have razer keys and mouse which all light up but dont go off like they normally do on boot. I think that the hardrive is the problem but im not sure if my mb is shorting because there are no washers between the standoffs and the board itself? Nothing wrong with the ram or card as they all work fine in my gfs pc. Any sugestions?
  13. Thanks everyone it's helpful to have some back up in thinking that this £130 investment should work hitch free .
  14. Cool thanks... i was a bit sceptical as it says 400w psu is recomended but the uses 60 watts and all of my parts only use 230 excluding the curent card.. so of the 300watts only 290 will be used... is that safe?
  15. I am wondering if anyone can help me... I'm thinking of getting the above graphics card to throw in my old tower so it can still play decent games in decent settings... I need to know if anyone can see any problems I'd have simply swapping my current card for the new one. It does fit as I brought a gigabyte gtx 750 and that fitted fine. This is the pc.
