  1. YEs fucken awesome you don't know how many posts ive made on reddit and here to figure this out fucken thank you so fucken much youre a god.
  2. also i already put a m.2 ssd into the top slot and it disabled 2 slots which is cool im already used to that but the middle one doesnt effect anything more right? I can't see any notation saying it would but it might just be that i dont know what im looking for.
  3. so if i populate the top 2 m.2 slots everything will work to its full capacity without effecting the graphic card?
  4. Ah ok awesome yes i have 2 m.2 nvme drives not the sata ones thanks for the clarification but is nvmie pcie? But yes i have the z370 gaming 7 with 1 nvme drive and 1 sata ssd and 3 mech drives i was thinking about removing the sata ssd which is my boot drive and cloning it to the new nvme drive. I know by installing the first nvme it disabled 2 sata slots so im just trying to figure out how to make this work. im reading the manual and it says the middle m.2 if its pcie all sata slots are ok.
  5. https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-500GB-SATA-Internal-MZ-N6E500BW/dp/B078218TWQ/ref=pd_sbs_147_t_0/147-4523246-6699319?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B078218TWQ&pd_rd_r=367fb0f7-f493-4488-bf6b-acc580ec3c22&pd_rd_w=tTDfZ&pd_rd_wg=wR0k2&pf_rd_p=5cfcfe89-300f-47d2-b1ad-a4e27203a02a&pf_rd_r=881K5801J5CNQDMV0WJ7&psc=1&refRID=881K5801J5CNQDMV0WJ7 also why does t his say m.2 sata?
  6. also is that halving global? as in like if you add the 2 drives and they both write 700 plus 700 they get combines and both reduced to 350?
  7. when its halved to 2 what does that mean? if the nvme drives writes and reads at 700/s does that mean instead its now 350?
  8. As the title says is a m.2 nvme drive considered a pcie ssd?(the samsung evo 960plus) Ive been trying to figure out if my motherboard a z370 can handle 2 m.2 nvme drives but reading about it is confusing me more is there some kind of global cap of speed? so if the cap is 4 and for instancei have 2 drives does that limit 2 for each drive? In my manual it says The PCIEX4 slot shares bandwidth with the M2P_32G connector. The PCIEX4 slot operates at up to x2 mode when a PCIe SSD is installed in the M2P_32G connector. what exactly is x2 mode would that hinder the 960 evo plus performance? And would it also hinder it if i ran 2 of them?
  9. Ok im sorry if im really stupid let me get this clear. when you are saying capped lets say i have a speed of 4 and i have 2 m.2 ssds does that mean it would split 2 and 2 betwen the 2 drives? Or both can operate at 4? All im trying to do is run 2 samsung evos 960plus in my computer but all the manul says is that the top connection disables sata 4 and 5 which is fine its already disabled but the m2a 32g nothing is disabled if its a pcie ssd are these pcie ssds? And also is ther something i might be missing? sorry im a computer noob trying to figure this out.
  10. As the title says does anyone have experience with having multiple m.2 nvme drives in this motherboard? I was reading about multiple lanes blah blah but in my manual it doesnt say which sata port is disabled and which slot is a slower speed or fastere speed and how that exactly works if anyone can explain that to me that would be awesome.
  11. Hello as the title says briefly im trying to figure out what these multiple lanes are. My friend told me just because I have 3 m.2 slots doesnt necessarily mean it can support 3 m.2 nvme drives. How would I go about determining this lane sharing specifics? what exactly is x4 vs x2 or lane sharing at all? How can i tell if my board supports multiple m.2s? I'm looking at the manual and its hard to decern what exactly is going do i lose support for certain sata ports? which ones? and how is that determined? Does anyone have experince with running 2 m.2 960 nvmes on this board? i want to get rid of my ssd and just run 2 nvmes and run 3 hard drives along with it and was wondering if that is possible.
