  1. Oh okay thanks. That makes it a bit easier! How do I go about OC the DRAM then? They're currently running on 2666 as I don't want to touch anything without understanding what I'm doing.
  2. Isn't PBO a big increase in itself? I think it's just mine/the upgrade that made it complain. It makes a high pitched noise when the computer is turned off as long as it's connected to the MB. It makes a little bit of noise even when it's unplugged from basically everything(including an unplugged power cable) which I found a bit weird.
  3. Hello, I was wondering what would be a good basic overclocking I could do as a newbie. I'm not quite sure what settings to change and what to not touch at all. I have: Ryzen 5 3600 Vengeance LPX 3200 Noctua NH-D15 Geforce 970(going to upgrade in a month or two) MSI B450 Gaming Plus MAX Corsair CX600(might need to replace the fan or the whole thing as it's making some odd noises) It's all stock atm. All help appreciated!
  4. Got it up and running now! What did I need to do to OC? DRAM:(vengeance 3200) A-XMP - Enabled Freq: 3200 MHz CPU:(Ryzen 5 3600) Don't know
  5. Ah thanks again! Hopefully I'll stop bothering you now!
  6. I asked about it on reddit and apparently the Ryzen one was for Ryzen 1000 and 2000G series as those had a worse integrated memory controller. I'm assuming for me it's just get the cheapest one of these and use XMP?
  7. When I tried to look it up it seems like one is sold towards Intel and one towards Ryzen. https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/805090-what-is-the-difference-between-these-kits/ But no one seem to be able to find a difference. The Ryzen one are on sale currently and that pushed it just under the other one in price.
  8. Sorry, I forgot to ask. There are 2 versions of this memory on the market here priced a bit differently. One from 2015 and one from 2017. Is there any difference between them?
  9. Ah okay that's good to know! And thanks again for all the help!
  10. Sorry to bother you again. I was going to buy this MB on sale, but when I checked pcpartpicker it says it might be incompatible and might need a bios update with another CPU first. But the board does have a bios flash button so I can use a USB and do it that way right? Just want to make sure so I'm not messing something up and need to buy other things.
  11. Thanks a lot for the help! I'll see what deals I can find, but now I know what to look for at least!
  12. Ah okay thanks, but I'm assuming it's not really that big of a difference.
  13. Ah okay thanks for the education! What does free sync 2 mean then? That's not too badly priced!
  14. Okay! Yeah I might watch a bit of stuff on it so that sounds good. What does freesync indicate?
