  1. Hello all I have the following problem: While my pc works, it seems to be under performing a bit lately in terms of fps in games and sometimes even streams. Everything except the GPU is fairly new. Bought most of the stuff maybe 3-4 months ago. So i went ahead and checked the device manager, which tells me that 3 PCI drivers aren't installed. Maybe thats the reason for the problems ive been having lately. Most of the specs can be seen below. In addition: Motherboard: B450 Tomahawk Max Ram: 16gb DDR4 3600 g.skill Power Supply: Seasonic Focus GX-650 Thank you in advance for your time and help Cheers DaYn
  2. Guess i just have to restart it until it does what its supposed to? I can clearly see the difference between it using the Intel HD and the GTX. Its just so much worse. I hope its fixed for now. Thank all of you for your input!
  3. Ok so ive just restarted the PC multiple times until under the Nvidia Control Panel it said that the preferred GPU is the Nvidia one. I also added the games i play to that list and now it seems to be working again. It used to work just fine until today it switched to the Intel HD GPU. Dont know why it did that. tried that already
  4. Hello to all, As described in the title, my laptop doesn't use its full potential by simply not using the Nvidia card. I have tried disabling HD graphics in the device manager, but then it still doesnt run on the GTX. (I wonder what its running on lol) So i tried switching it with the Nvidia Control Panel. Here i can select what GPU its supposed to use by clicking restore(bottom right) and then selecting desired GPU. After hitting apply it always switches back to the "integrated processor" and not the selected "High performance Nvidia Processor". I also tried setting "rules" so whenever a certain program is opened it should use the GTX GPU for it. Taskmanager doesnt show any activity on the GTX GPU thought... The only time ill get a sign that its using the Nvidia is a short burst to 100% and then 0%. Also shown in attached foto. I have attached files showing the device manager, Nvidia Control Panel, and the Intel Graphics Control Panel. I dont know what to do anymore so im looking for help If there's anymore information that might be helpful i'll happily provide it. Cheers, DaYn95
  5. Alright. I got the 3600MHz. Thank you for your input! Awesome. That just justifies me switching to the B450. Thank all of you for your help. This has helped immensely.
  6. Sounds like a good reason to buy 3600. 3200 CL16 (16-18-18) and 3600 CL19-20-20-40
  7. So i just found 3600 cl19 for the same price. Do you think 3200cl16 or 3600cl19 would be better?
  8. Well 3600 kits are at least 40€ more expensive where i live. I found a really good Black Friday deal on 3200 so its going to be hard to top that. I have a good aftermarket cooler so that shouldn't be the reason for me to upgrade. I feel like the 3600 will give me enough power for gaming or would you recommend getting the 3700x?
  9. Perfect. Just what i needed. Looking forward to installing all my new parts! Might spend the extra bucks i saved on a bigger SSD, since i only have 250gb of SSD storage atm. Again thanks a lot!
  10. Thank you for your input! You helped a lot! Saved me some cash too! I currently only have DDR3 RAM so i'm going to buy new RAM anyways, but 40€ more doesnt seem worth the upgrade to 3600.
  11. Alright thanks a lot for your help! Do you think switching to 3200Mhz CL16 would decrease performance by a lot? Should i stick to the 3600Mhz CL 16 RAM?
  12. Thanks for your answer! PCIe 4.0 is used for some M.2 SSDs, which i dont need, and potentially future GPUs. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
  13. Hello to all, i am currently looking to upgrade my CPU and RAM. Looking for advice on my motherboard choice. I wanted to buy the Gygabite Aorus Elite x570 because i read that the new Ryzen chips perform best on the x570 boards. Another reason for me to buy a x570 board is that it has PCIe 4.0 for a future GPU upgrade. On the other hand the b450 boards are much cheaper. Do you think it is worth it spending the extra 100€ to ensure future upgrade possibilities and better CPU performance? I also read that 3600MHz Ram is supposed to be the "sweet spot" for the new Ryzen chips. Currently looking at 16GB 3600Mhz Cl16. Would there be a hit in performance if i switched to 3200MHz Cl16? CPU upgrade will be the Ryzen 5 3600, maybe 3600x depending on if i really want borderlands 3. I know there isnt much of a performance upgrade. PC is mainly used for Gaming and some CAD work. Thanks in advance for your input. Cheers from Germany, DaYn95
  14. @boggy77 alright. Thank you for your feedback! What PSU would you recommend? Is there a special manufacturer you think makes great PSUs? Since my next upgrade would be a new GPU in the future, would you recommend getting a 650W PSU instead of the 550W?
  15. Thank you for your quick reply! Just found out its a LC6550 v2.2. It definitly is an older model, don't know how to tell if its a quality PSU or not.
