Hey guys. So as the title says I have a 27 inch 2011 iMac that I use for minor computing tasks, however I am trying to ALSO use it as a PC monitor using Target Display Mode. The problem is that in 2011 the mini display port was replaced with Thunderbolt 1, same connector, but the mac doesnt accept display input unless it is coming form another thunderbolt 1 device. My graphics card, a GTX 1060 has displayport slots but not thunderbolt and passive converters dont work. I had nearly lost all hope that what I was trying to do was no longer doable untill I saw that one LTT episode where Linus tried to use those 4 Quadros in SLI (and failed spectacularly) but he had that monitor that had thunderbolt inputs that he had some active converters from displayport to thunderbolt. Does anyone know what he used or know where I can find something that would work out for me?
