  1. https://www.amazon.ca/StarTech-com-DisplayPort-DVI-Adapter-1920x1200/dp/B004SUO1GM?th=1 That's the adapter im using
  2. I've been told it supports up to 144, i tried putting my monitor's refresh rate to 80 and it gives me that message
  3. I just got an active Display port to DVI adapter for my monitor because My graphics card only has Display Port and HDMI and my Monitor has VGA HDMI and DVI. My old PC had a graphics card that had DVI so I could get 144hz on my monitor no problem but HDMI doesn't allow it. I plug the Display port to DVI into my computer and monitor and try upping the refresh rate, I'm able to do it but something pops up on my monitor saying "incorrect cable please use the dvi dual-link that came with your monitor" I have the Acer GN246HL monitor and GTX 1660Ti graphics card

    HDMI 120Hz

I have a 144hz monitor that has HDMI, VGA, and DVI inputs. When I had my old PC plugged into my monitor using DVI I was able to get the full 144hz, then I got a new PC that doesn't support DVI, so I use HDMI instead. I'm only able to get a maximum of 75hz on my monitor now. I've tried going into my NVIDIA graphics settings and making a custom resolution, but the most I can get is 75 Hz. I've even bought an HDMI to Display Port cable but that doesn't make a difference. Is there any way that I can get 120hz using HDMI?
