  1. Forgive my ignorance, but what's this?
  2. I have an old CPU that would like to play around as a personal project, I'd love to get a recycled GPU for it but not sure what to choose for it. The idea is to upgrade, while trying to recycle old cards. The machine: It is Foxconn G31MX-K Mobo w/ Pentium Dual CPU E2180 @ 2.00 GHz. It has 2 GBs DDR2 @ 667. Lastly (don't know if important), 1 x PCIe x16. 1 x PCIe x1. 2 x PCI. What are your recommendations?
  3. Hello everyone! My girlfriend and I have a little project we'd like to start, I have a couple of really old PC cases and we've been saving to make our own gaming computer of our own so we can play together. We're looking for help on what components would be best for our budget and knowledge, we know how to assemble and disasamble a PC, we've done it multiple times but for really old stuff (2008 tech) and have our own computers but we really need an upgrade. Basically, we've started living together and for our 1st move-in anniversary we wanted to start our project of each-their-own PC Gamer (Retro case edition) 1. Budget & Location. We live in a not-so-small town called Hermosillo, located in Sonora, Mexico (close to the border with USA). Our budget is roughly $6,000 MXN (About $310 USD as of today Nov 23rd) for each machine (Peripherals, monitors & shipping not included). 2. Aim. We're looking to make a rig good enough to play any game prior to 2014 (We really like games like TES:V & Saints Row: The Third) so we don't need that much firepower to run these at 1080p 60PFS all-high. 3. Monitors. We're planning on using only 1 monitor each, no plans on using any other in the future, anything that is 1080p 60hz LED compatible with our new rig, is considered a good monitor. 4. Peripherals. I currently have a 27.5" 1080p 60hz LED Monitor (Can't remember the brand, will look in to it later) with VGA and DVI-D inputs, this monitor has acoompanied me since 2013 and I'm looking to reuse it if possible, but we're open for any suggestions for both or only for her (budget per monitor ~$1000 MXN / ~$50 USD) Any good mechanical keyboard & mouse that is good enough for gaming is good (RGB if possible) and any gaming pad that you guys recommend. (Budget for each set $1000 - $1500 MXN / $50 - $75 USD) 5. Why are you upgrading? I'm an avid gamer since I started in PC Master Race way back on 2006 playing Aoe II & Runescape, been playing in whatever hardware I can pushing it to the edge not caring if its at 30FPS in 640 x 480 all-low just to play Terraria with my girl. I just want to game, no matter what! My girlfriend adopted this trend and started to push her PC limits just so we could play together. Now, she has a Samsung 2011 laptop with an AMD CPU & on-board graphics. I have a Dell OptiPlex 3020M, Intel CPU & on-board graphics. (Don't remember the exact specs for each) We're currently playing Saints Row The Third on Coop all-low at 1280 x 720 fullscreen at roughly 50-60FPS and we want to start this new project just so our couple gaming experience is a bit better, if you can help us out getting done by recommending a build we'd highly appreciate it. I created this account just to give it a shot to this thriving forum that LTT got me into. Thank you all for your support, we're tech enthusiasts and wish to keep on being avid gamers. Sorry for the long post and poor grammar. -Israel. :)
