  • Biography
Hi! I'm Norrix! AKA [REDACTED]! I'm currently [REDACTED] years old and I'm living in [REDACTED]. I'm here to ask questions and post some insane computer stuff so if you like that...then stick around, I'll be sitting here eating a hot-dog whilst watching soccer while waiting for something to pop up in my head to do. I do edit videos yes, but it kinda burns me out a lot, the proof is my channel which I don't want to plug in here. so good luck trying to find it. I do play a lot of FPS and the occasional SWTOR, and yes I am semi good at it.

  1. Budget (including currency): around $500-600 with 7% tax on every part, keyboard monitor mouse is part of it but not needed, highly appreciated though. Audio hardware not part of budget, higher quality recommendations for audio hardware highly welcome! Country: United states Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Adobe Audition, Radio stream programs Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Current build: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU Intel Core i3-3220 3.3 GHz Dual-Core Processor Motherboard Intel DH61WWB3 Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard Memory G.Skill Value 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3-1600 CL11 Memory $45.20 @ Amazon Storage Western Digital Caviar Blue 500 GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $39.88 @ Amazon Case Cooler Master Elite 342 MicroATX Mini Tower Case w/400 W Power Supply Monitor Dell E170S 17.0" 1280x1024 Monitor Keyboard Logitech K120 Wired Standard Keyboard $8.91 @ Amazon Mouse Logitech M90 Wired Optical Mouse $9.97 @ Amazon Headphones Sony MDR-7506 Headphones $96.76 @ Amazon Custom Marian Trace Alpha Custom AKG Pro Audio K77 Channel Studio Headphones $69.00 @ Amazon Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $269.72 Generated by PCPartPicker 2021-04-12 17:18 EDT-0400 most of the computers use a Mackie 1202-vlz3 and all of them use a Electrovoice RE20 microphone I am looking to upgrade most of it, some of the items and peripherals have to be re used anyway because I dont want to take 10 mins waiting to open audition, mATX size-ish, 4 cores, 16gb, m.2, an actual 80+ rated power supply minimal please. definitely better keyboard, mechanical def, but nothing too flashy. mouse and monitor, maybe 21-24.5 inch, cheap, we used 1280x1024 so anything above that at 16:9 is a godsend, as we aren't using them for gaming. as for the Marian trace alpha card it is PCI and I do not know how to keep that unless you have a better reccomendation for the card with similar ports on it. nothing too fancy we only put out 44100 and 16 bit stuff anyway. Backstory and what we use it for in depth: I am a member of staff at a radio station, its a student run radio station at a ordinary high school in US, we've won awards for our work and do some bits here and then. our systems and machines comprise of about 15-16 computers all running the specs above and about 7-8 of them are in recording booths and the others are placed in 1 room for people to just edit their work generally with the exception of one sitting in the live studio for whatever purpose. we have 5 random dell computers for script writing in a separate room, and we have 3 computers all "powerful" for their purpose, aka uploading music to the station, the live show one that broadcasts us on radio through a means that I have no idea how, and a server...with no raid...and 1tb...which we have to clean out every 3-4 months. parts for those are unknown since I don't have access to opening them up until august. I had no say of what we should upgrade too until now as of next year I am becoming the equipment manager for the station and being forced to fight an all out war with IT. also the budget is an estimate as how we usually get money for a lot of our stuff is through fundraisers and up until this year, sponsors, and no the school doesn't help us out. In the event we dont get enough money to redo like a third of the systems, we would then redo just one recording booth or buy better headphones/microphones for the entire space. recommendations for those as well. if everything does work out then hopefully we can do that and have better quality stuff. there is a bunch of comrex's, more audio interfaces from radio systems and furman but stuff like that is an area that I don't know much about, I can provide pictures anytime from tomorrow till friday over any other stuff if needed or you just want to see the spaces we work at, except for well the pieces I dont have access to yet as stated earlier. any help is appreciated!
  2. So Lads, third post...eyyyy i guess So I originally was supposed to get a 3800x, but I was gifted a 3900x that I can over clock pretty well (4.6 all cores) the problem is my 360 aio died and I was gonna buy a 360mm cooler but then i felt like I wanted to start exploring the exotic, and since I am an aesthetics nerd, I want to do it in my Phanteks enthoo pro m TG black on white edition with White LED QL's on a black frame, the problem is now, that I don't know any of the good cooling brands and I don't want to just buy a kit and get done with it. I would like to keep the aesthetics but I also want good performance and I've been hearing a lot about Hardware Labs and Optimus cooling (Optimus is WAYYY out of my budget....) I have a budget of around 400-600 US btw but I've heard that isn't that much... I NEED TO PAY FOR MY FOOD. OK!?!? Little bit more about it: Just the CPU for now I do know that I need Radiator cleaner you're gonna be recommending it to a guy who literally is clumsy. System is (not listed on my profile need to fix) MSI MEG ACE, 32gb 3600 Gskill Neo, 2 Nvme Drives, 1 ssd, 2 hdd, Dark Pro 11 850w semi modular 80+ Platinum powersupply, MSI 2070 Gaming 8G (That cannot be liquid cooled for some weird reason) but if anyone can like idk, help me out on this and set me up with a cool system that would be great! If no aesthetics then that's fine. ANY suggestions IS APPRECIATED!
  3. Im pretty sure I am supposed to put this here instead of in PC build planning sooo... I’m helping a friend get a cooling loop and the budget is like around...$200...for like a 3700x, (240-280mm rad?) and I’m looking On ModMyMods and a bunch of other sites and I’m either very stupid when it comes to this or I’m just not getting the right combos cause it comes up more expensive then just a simple ek loop for $400. (Bear in mind, it would take months for him to get that much as HS stuff) any support on this?
  4. Lemme also put that I am a huge overclocker too on the matter but never had the money to do a heavy one until now.
  5. That looks great! I have the NVMe drive already too! It also leaves a lot left in my budget too.
  6. I mean, I have a Gigabyte x470 gaming 7 wifi-50 so it could take me a long way.
  7. You’re gonna have to give me like a couple of hours so I can get home, but I’ve done this already. I’ve booted with one and hardware is 21.1mb then I used the second one and 1/3 times i tried it with the second in different spots it booted but with 8 reserved still. And then the other 2/3 times it did not also the one stick can be OC’d the other screws the bios and resets it
  8. Like, it’s detected but the stick is being taken up by Hardware and I reset the hardware reserved mem and its still there.
  9. Thanks! As for cutting the toxic people out of my life, due to siege I am a toxic person lol. But will the ram fix help me on my quest to game designing and 4k vid editing?
  10. FIRST POST, TAKE IT EASY ON ME. So I have a ryzen 2700x, 16gb (8 cause one doesn't work) a 2070 and a gigabyte x470, I'm looking to upgrade because I want Pure FPS on Siege (Play it Semi Competitively) and the ability to also game design and video edit 4k vids, my friend told me to get a 9900ks but im a bit skeptical, so now I am turning to y'all for advice! any recommendations? I have a homemade server with 4tb so a 10G Nic card or in the mobo would be good.
