  1. Update. I reinstalled the old AMD catalyst 15.7.1 and got into the advanced eyefinity setups. From there it took just a few minutes before f1 2019 was up and running like a gem. May need to either lower the settings on it or overclock my 5700xt because it was a solid 40-60 fps. Which hey. Im not complaining at all about that. I know how to fix fps problems easy.
  2. Yeah, once i turn on eyefinity i cant change monitor resolutions or do anything with the display tab. When looking at the display tab in the amd window for eyefinity i have about no options. Just rearrange the screens and disable eyefinity.
  3. Its not just the games though. Its when im on my desktop and that carries over into the games. Also i know my monitors should ideally be all the same. They are the same brand and basically the same monitor outside of resolution. Same company, same HZ practically same model number outside of a single letter i believe. But for 27 inch monitors i really wanted to have one good one that was detailed and a fitting res. Because 1080p on a 27 inch does seem a bit large since the image is stretched a bit. I wanted triple monitors for sim racing but i needed that one detailed one for games like arma, squad or other games where detail is needed not just for visuals. Most everything i came across said that eyefinity would prob work fine if i just changed the resolution of the 1440p monitor to 1080p before turning on eyefinity. And yeah, it did that first time i turned on eyefinity. But now it wont work the same.
  4. So a few months ago i went from having a single 1920x1080p monitor to that and a 2560x1440p one. Well during christmas time i got another 1080p monitor. They are all 144hz. The 1440p one is 27 inches wide and one 1080p is 27 inches wide aswell. The 2nd 1080p one is 24 inches wide. But that does not exactly matter since the computer should see it by resolutions. Im getting another 1080p 27 inch monitor in a few weeks and wanted to have everything setup so i could turn on eyefinity and run some sim racing games with the triple screen setup. Well that didint turn out well. Ive spent the past 3 hours trying to get it to setup correctly. When i got that 2nd 1080p monitor i turned on eyefinity and it worked just fine. accidentally tabbed over to minecraft and instantly regretted that because triple screen MC is a horror nobody should see. But the point is that when i went over to MC eyefinity worked fine. No tuning or anything, no black bars or blurry screens. It just worked! But when i went to test it out on F1 2019 today as soon as i turned on eyefinity about the lower 1/3rd of the 1440p screen is just one big black box. I understand what the computer is doing, its simply setting all screens to 1080p pixels tall to match up with each other height wise. But for the life of me i cant figure out how to just make the 1440p monitor stretch all the way downwards so i dont have half my screen taken up by a black box making things unplayable. Ive now tried rearranging the screens, custom display resolutions and about all the display options the amd thing has to give. I tried setting my 1440p monitor to 1920x1080 before turning on eyefinity in hopes eyefinity would see them all as 1080. But it just reverts the 1440p monitor back to native resolution (1440p) and then gives me the massive ass black box. Can anyone please give me a solution or help me?
  5. Thats more or less what ive come to. Reinstall half the stuff that is easy to do and move some more niche programs or anything i can easily find in my old HDD. There are some slight issues like getting new game icons from games in steam onto my desktop. I can get them on the desktop but they just dont have a image which is slightly annoying. No major issues either way though.
  6. First off im not sure which discussion this should go under so i figured i might aswell put it in the general area. If thats not correct im sorry So yesterday i mostly rebuilt my PC, New case, new cpu, 16gb more ram and a new 2tb SSD. First i tried cloning my 1tb (which is darn near full) over to the new SSD. Took about 2 hours before my computer restarted then the OS was gone, went into bios switched boot to the SSD and no windows. Today i got a fresh install of windows on my SSD but now im just sitting here with nothing. No files, no games, no programs no nothing. I can see the hard drive with all my stuff in it under This PC but how would i go about getting it to work with my new fresh install. Nothing ive come across online has solved this problem, atleast that ive seen. So anyone able to help? Thanks for any replies.
  7. Thanks then. Just ordered the 1440p monitor and ill prob wait for christmas sales on the GPU and other two monitors.
  8. So im planning on getting a 27 inch 1440p monitor followed by 2 1080p 27 inch monitors. They all have the same aspect ratio. I currently use a 1660ti but to support the 3 new monitors ill be getting a 5700xt. My question as ive never used eyefinity (or freesync but thats besides the point as all 3 monitors will be Displayport-Displayport) is will i be able to downscale the 1440p to 1080p alongside the other two monitors and be able to play games with all 3 monitors such as f1 2019, Iracing or Project cars 2.
  9. I have considered it quite a bit. But i should already be looking at a new monitor being my current one is about 4-5 years old. Plus its just 24 inches wide. Also half the reason i want multiple monitors is so i can simply have games on one and discord or youtube on the other. Its quite frustrating when im playing kingdom come deliverance or some full screen game and it takes a second or two to tab out and read. Ive also been trying to occasionally stream for friends so reading chat is a bonus.
  10. Whilst i do think ultra wides are cool and i have been on one before at a friends house. They just wont give the same immersion or ability to look around as a triple setup would in sim racing which is my primary thing behind getting 3 monitors rather than one. But the 1440p one would still give me that one quality monitor for simple games such as squad or arma that i also enjoy playing. Ive also come to find that g sync or free sync wont work for me being i only have 1 display port on my GPU. So only one of my monitors would be able to use either if they ever are compatible which im not sure they are. Though i have gone the past few years with no syncing technology just fine so im sure i can go on for enough time until drivers are updated and they are supported and i can upgrade my GPU to something with 3 display ports.
  11. To continue on what i just said above it seems like the aspect ratios of the monitors have to be the same. If they are then i can just downscale the 1440p monitor to one to 1080p and it will be the same as the other two correct? Somebody correct me if im wrong. If i had 2 24inch 1080p monitors and 1 27inch 1440p monitor then it would get screwed up. But thats not what id have, just in that case surround would fail.
  12. I havent seen anything saying that surround forces it to use the max resolution. If so thats quite annoying but it would be nice if i could find something definitively saying thats true or not. Also from what ive seen freesync monitors are only supported through use of a display port. So using HDMI or DVI i would have issues wouldint i? Ive never enabled anything or disabled anything on my current freesync monitor but ive still never had any issues with a nvidia card.
  13. The issue i run into with a ultra wide is that you cant set it up to stretch around you, so when sim racing it can become very offsetting as you either have to close up the FOV really far or have what should be 3d like sitting in a real car on a near flat surface in front of you. Which to be fair would be better than the 24inch monitor i currently have but i feel like if im spending enough money i want that real immersion. I do want to ask why a ultra wide would be better than a general dual monitor setup, with dual monitors you set a game on one and say discord or youtube on the other. With a ultrawide its just one screen, so would you have to just split the screen up setting youtube on one half game on the other? Also i wouldint be mixing resolutions in surround as i would just downscale the 1440 to 1080. So surround should just see it as a 1080 monitor correct? ' Finally what throws me off with gsync and freesync is that unknowingly have been using my freesync 144hz 1080p monitor with a nvidia card for about 3 years now with no issue. I didint know what freesync or gsync were until earlier today when my friend pointed out that it may be a issue with those monitors.
  14. Ok, so to start off i have a 1660ti and as such it only has one Dvi port, display port and hdmi port. So the first question being since i have a nvidia card and cant do display port to display port connections for all 3 monitors. Would i actually have issues with freesync monitors? If so does anyone have any gsync monitor recommendations in the same general price range/specs as the ones linked below? These are the monitors in question after about 4-5 hours of searching for reasonably priced monitors that id go for. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VJJXDBX?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078ZJHD25/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B078ZJHD25&linkCode=as2&tag=joshjaks-20&linkId=fa51e4662bcda1bb8f6e26a74500986d\ The next question being that the current idea i have is to get a single 1440p monitor (1st link) and 2 of the 1080p monitors (2nd link). Ill be using the triple setup for sim racing on low settings more than likely. Since using different resolution monitors can cause issues would i be able to lower the resolution of the single 1440p monitor to 1080p and then be able to use surround in order to run them correctly? Would there be any major decrease in image quality or issues i may run into? Outside of sim racing i do play alot of other games such as CSGO, Rimworld, or many general games so i want a good quality image for my primary monitor but im not entirely able to afford or run 3 1440p monitors. Thanks for any replies or answers. Been trying to find answers but at this point after hours of searching im just done.
  15. Ok, so My budget lays about 800-1k at best but preferably less if possible. With that out of the way I’m as the title says looking for a triple monitor setup with a few questions. ive got a 1660ti (so I will need some adapters or special cords since it only has one dp) and primarily will use all 3 monitors for sim racing, Assetto corsa, PC2, IRacing, f1 and the like. for most those I would assume at low settings a 1660ti would cap 3 1080p monitors at 60fps maybe? So having 144hz monitors or anything higher than 1080p would be a waste of money. Preferably 75hz monitors so it has a bit higher hz and if I can run that higher FPS it will have the room upwards. But the one thing is that I do play quite a few other games that I’ll only need a single monitor for and having had a 144hz monitor for many years now I don’t think I could play them going back to 60hz. Also, roughly measuring out the space around my sim rig 28-30 inch monitors would probably do best. My current setup has my sim rig on one side of my desk and my standard desktop opposite to it so to go from one to the other I just spin the monitor or monitors around to face the other side. a stand is likely not necessary as I’m quite good with building stuff so I figure that with the help of my dad or mother I could quite easily just as we did my desk. But if there are any cheap stands that would support these monitors and rotate 180 degrees so I could simply spin the stand rather than all monitors separately that would be nice I guess. this monitor I have is currently 5 years old maybe more with a few dead blue pixels so I would like to replace it with a new one. Hence why I’d get a new 144hz. so my next question would be if I can switch that single 144hz monitor to the hz of the other two for sim racing and have it work easily or would that cause issues? And just to confirm that the 1660ti is supported or I can use it (with little issue) with nvidia surround correct? It does not list that the 1660 is compatible on the nvida site but I’ve seen nothing nor found anything saying it isint compatible (I still have access to all the display and surround setting in the nvida control panel anyway. Thanks for any help or reccomendations anyone gives. I’m not entirely good with monitors so googling or looking for any clear cut answers has been moderately confusing. side note I don’t really care for. Would curved monitors do anything in this case? I feel like having triple curved monitors would look pretty odd.
