  1. Sorry about that, fixed it! Work stuff currently doesn't use a lot of GPU mainly CPU bound at the moment. Would getting a better GPU like a 4070 bottleneck my current setup?
  2. Hey everyone, I've been out of the loop for the last little bit with newer generations. My current setup is: 8700k, 32gb ram, z370 aorus eliete, 2060 Super. 850W Things I do: Gaming: Fornite, Warzone, Maplestory, and sometimes AAA games. Work: Light Video/photo editing (potentially more in the future), Coding (including compiling software, data science, and ML/AI stuff). I know I'll need to upgrade my GPU but I'm not sure if I should go the route of MOBO/CPU/RAM first or GPU first for the existing system? The ideal budget would be around 1000-1200CAD Would really appreciate any input!
  3. Would you have any suggestions on one or if any of the ones I linked would work?
  4. Hey sorry for missing some details, less 1000sqft for the place and its a duplex so would competing routers cause a problem? As for speeds the plan is 1000 Mbps down, 750 up.
  5. Hey Everyone, I'm looking at getting a router for my new place I'm moving into which is a duplex. The most I do for networking is gaming and I do have an emby / unraid server hooked up to my computer and I mainly use everything hard wired other than streaming on a smart TV. Would I need a crazy high AX router? current options I'm looking at are: https://www.amazon.ca/TP-Link-AX6600-Gaming-Archer-GX90/dp/B08TGKX9MT/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=router&psr=PDAY&qid=1657728037&s=prime-day&smid=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&sr=1-4 https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/tp-link-archer-wireless-ax6600-tri-band-wi-fi-6-gaming-router-ax90/15453714 https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/tp-link-archer-ax55-wireless-ax3000-dual-band-wi-fi-6-router/15757396 https://www.staples.ca/products/2963866-en-asus-rt-ax58u-ax3000-dual-band-wifi-6-80211ax-router-with-mu-mimo-and-ofdma
  6. Hey everyone, Not sure if this goes into this section or the server related area, I'll happily move it there if needed. Currently I have a one home network: ISP1 -> Modem -> Router -> devices One of those devices is a unraid server hosing an emby server. I'm looking at getting my own personal ISP (many reasons). If I hook up my devices including the unraid server to this new network, is there a way for PC's on the original network to access the unraid server to load data onto it for the emby server? Thanks in advance!
  7. Hey All, Thanks for taking the time on this, I've included a drawing for this about what I'm after I just don't know the device I'm looking for. I know I can buy individual HDMI Switches/Matrixs but I was wondering is there a device where I'd only have to click once for all 4 monitors to swap instead of having to hit 4 individual buttons on switches?
  8. Hey everyone thanks for the responses taking it all in, being Canadian that is a bit over budget. I'm just curious what would the difference between the camera I linked from Amazon and the one you have linked from ebay @Brian McKee? Thanks!
  9. Hey thanks for the responses! @Electronics Wizardy I'm probably hoping around the $500 range but could always save up more. @KingTdiGGiTTy is this the EOS rebel? Why would you buy used? Is there anything to look for when buying used as a beginner? https://www.amazon.ca/Canon-T7-18-55mm-DC-III/dp/B07C2X61N3/ref=asc_df_B07C2X61N3/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=292977964938&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17654983548908234869&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9001106&hvtargid=pla-492855862245&th=1
  10. Hey everyone, I plan on taking photography up as a hobby and I know it can get really expensive and looking for a good place to start while I take some courses in photography. The ideal things I'd like to be shooting are nature shots (sky / clouds), Urban shots of skylines, shots while on biking trips, and probably people in those environments I feel like what I'm looking for is asking a lot as I'll probably be in both day and night. I'd want to take it with me while I'm biking etc. I have my Galaxy Note 10+ which I feel like takes some good shots but I'm sure there are better options out there, I'd love some feedback and I really appreciate the time anyone gives to this! Also if anyone has some good courses / tutorials for photography that would be great also! Thanks!
  11. Hey everyone, I haven't really found "concrete" answer around this and just want to clear it up for myself. My current system: i7 8700k gigabyte Z370 Gaming 7 When looking at the ram compatibility list from the motherboards website it doesn't look like there are any 2 x 16 kits that are compatible with the motherboard but on corsairs website it says there are some compatible, what one would you go off?
  12. Hey everyone, I'm looking at building a home server and I'm pretty lost at what I actually should be looking at for what I want it to do. I'm looking for it to run a local apache server for multiple computers in the house and light storage backups. I have an old i5-4690k sitting around doing nothing with lots of ram, is it worth re-using that chip for the server or buy server grade equipment? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
  13. I can rma it but need a psu in the meantime as I work from home and this is my main machine and if this one didn't last more than a year I'd rather replace it, rma my current one and sell it when I get it back. Is it worth buying a platinum or higher rated for the chance of better longevity?
  14. No reason at all those are just two I grabbed off the internet I'd take suggestions on others as well. My main question is what do you think the odds the PSU is failing vs a windows error causing it?
  15. Hey Everyone,I think I'm experiencing an issue with my PSU (EVGA Supernova G3 750w) but would love another opinion. So I've been experiencing unexpected power-downs that happen with no pattern at all below are system specs:Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 78700k (not overclocked)32GB Gskill Trident Z RGB 3000mhz 4x8gbGigabyte 2060 SUPER OC edition3 Noctua NF-A14 iPPC-3000 PWM2 140mm case fansH150i CPU cooler2 SSD's (256GB and 128GB)2 Mechanical Drives (WD Blues 1TB 5400 RPM)1 Samsung 970 pro m.2 driveI've run every benchmark for all the components and never crashed during that which leads me to believe the problem is the PSU but in windows, I'm getting an error: <EventID Qualifiers="32768">6008</EventID> with no minidump files to go along with it.I'd happily replace the PSU someone else thinks the problem is the PSU. Options to replace are: https://www.newegg.ca/seasonic-focus-plus-750-platinum-ssr-750px-750w/p/N82E16817151191?Description=seasonic&cm_re=seasonic-_-17-151-191-_-Product Or https://www.amazon.ca/Corsair-CP-9020138-NA-Platinum-Performance-Supply/dp/B01NARQ2QU/ref=sr_1_10?fst=as%3Aoff&qid=1574109394&refinements=p_89%3ACorsair%2Cp_85%3A5690392011&rnid=5690384011&rps=1&s=electronics&sr=1-10Any help would be great and thanks in advance!
