I am looking at a 2070 super, probably the rog strix one and the ryzen 3900x to go with the board. As I have the gt-ax11000 asus router the ax wifi was a draw card as was the many USB and the 5gbit eth port.

Ok cool. Thanks for that. I can look at water cooling in the future if it needs extra cooling.

It has the crosschill EK III for the VRM. Thanks for the advice. I only get around to doing a full upgrade (whole new box) about every 8 years these days.

Hi, I am looking to build a new pc and I am looking at the ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Formula for the motherboard. I have not been able to find a definitive answer regarding whether this board should be water cooled. The admittedly nice overview page on the ASUS site stated you CAN cool with air or water. But under gaming conditions I don't want overheating to be an issue but have a preference for air cooling.
