  1. so i have a ryzen 7 2700 (non-x) and i would like to overclock it, but my mobo uses an voltage offset and idk how much voltage to add because idk my base voltage. how would i find it? or if you know could you directly tell me it? please and thank you!
  2. i have a ryzen 7 2700 (with stock cooler) paired with a b450 aorus pro wifi. i've tested a cpu oc on ryzen master @ 3.8ghz with 1.2v and and it was stable. however, when i put this value into my bios, i am unable to boot. i have to up the voltage to 1.35v in order to load into windows and successfully run a cinebench r20 test. but 1.35v is pretty high for 3.8 and so im wondering why i am unable to do it when my bios but able with ryzen master (and with such low voltages)? note that my os, bios and drivers are all up to date

  4. thanks for your info..btw i decided to oc with ryzen master instead and surprizingly i could get 3.8 with 1.275v. i think there may be something wrong with my bios?
  5. you shouldn't be getting high temps especially for light games like csgo.
  6. i have a ryzen 7 2700 paired with a b450 aorus pro wifi and i oc my cpu to 3.8 at 1.3-1.35 volts with stock cooler. however regardless of what hardware monitorin software the voltage readings when under 100% load doesn't go above 1v; is that a faulty sensor in my system?
  7. so essentially i could say that the silicon lottery scammed me and even with a better cooler, my chip must cannot handle it?
  8. well then it is most likely related to the game. was there any big updates recently?
  9. forgot to check if 3.8 works for lower voltages but people have said they got the same chip up to 4.2 on 1.42volts. and wdym by "board is garbage", vrm temps seem very cool at under 50c monitored by HWiNFO64. is it a faulty reading? cuz people say this board goes over 100c when cpu OCed. also my psu is a 500w 80+ from antec, do you think the psu is bottlenecking the OC?
  10. well its down to a couple main reasons. there may be a defect in your gpu or motherboard (maybe the pcie slots) or there is a software bug thats related to your games or drivers (bios, chipset, graphics etc.) remember that the newest version may not be the best, try older ones. i would recommend downloading another game and searching your cpu and gpu that has benchmarks of that game to see if your performance matches the guy on youtube if nothing works then im afraid i do not know how to solve it
  11. 1) ram prices rn are cheap, in canadacomputers you can pick up 2x8 gb of corsair 3200mhz ram for 80-100$ 2) i highly recommend ryzen for the price to performance compared to i5 (as well if you want it knew) 3) if u insist on intel, then it won't be cheap. i would suggest going for an older generation. i personally think that the 6th generation is quite nice for second handed purchases 4) look for feature like usb ports and vrm cooling on mobo. also don't cheap out here as it is the "heart" to your pc
  12. 1) for your ram, if you are not going to use 32gb of memory, then i would go for higher speeds as it is a huge performance gain for ryzen (plus u can oc for even more gains) 2) as for the motherboard, since you are getting such an high end processor, i would recommend the x570 as it will have better OC potential and will "future proof" your system. you also have to remember that the motherboard is the "heart" of your pc so it is necessary not to give in budget on that component 3) a 2070 super may be too ambitious unless you are using it for gaming. video editing and streaming is mostly cpu intensive 4) nowadays air cooling is just as good as water, especially with companies like noctua. if you do not have a tight budget then aio would be the choice as it looks clean, and will not "bend" the motherboard overtime oppose to those hefty air coolers. but if a balance of performance and saving money is what ur looking for, go for air (and mind that it will look "ugly") and your welcome
  13. so i have a ryzen 7 2700 paired with a b450 aorus pro wifi board. even though i have a stock cooler, i decided just to see what juice i could get out of it. i ended off at 3.8ghz at 1.35v and it is stable through cinebench r20 tests. temps remain a few degrees off 70c. then, i decided to pump up the voltage to 4ghz with 1.4 volts, and even 1.42 and it barely made it through window boot, and black screened right away when i try cinebench. please explain to me why im crashing even on such high voltage (it's not like my cpu went extremely hot)??
  14. ok this may sound weird but here is 2 things you can give it a shot at. 1) put your graphics card in another pcie express slot 2) if it #1 doesn't make a difference, install some older graphics drivers, from a time when you got 200+ fps
  15. and is your gpu usage normaly higher than what you have now?
  16. well it dosen't look like there a problem with your hardware.. maybe try reinstalling the game? cuz some game files might be corrupted and such. also, download malwarebytes and malwarebyte adware cleaner and let them both scan your device. you my not know it but there is a possibility some hidden adware/virus is using up your performance and bandwidth. i didn't think i had any, but when i scanned it, it detected 5 PUP adware files...i then noticed a fps boost and lower ping.
  17. cool thanks for letting me know. do you think my set of ram can be push to 3000mhz? and if so, what voltage?
  18. try bumping ur settings up to high and see if you get higher fps. the game resolution may be bottlenecking your fast hardware, especially in very light games like csgo. your gpu sits at 38% usage and for your cpu, im guessing probably lower.
  19. so currently i have a ryzen 7 2700 and everyone recommends to pair it with fast ram. the thing is my budget is kind of tight and so im left with a pair (2x8) of 8gb corsair vengeance ddr4 @ 2400mhz with 16 timings from an older rig. so i want to overclock it to improve my ryzen performance. can anyone help me with that as i am quite new to OCing RAM. your help will be greatly appreciated
  20. also, i have a 2 sticks of 8gb corsair vengeance ram @ 2400mhz....ik this is slow for ryzen so i tried to oc it to 3000mhz. i put in 1.35v and default 16 timings but instead when i boot in i get 15 timings (15-15-15-34) and default 2133mhz. any tips for ram OC?
  21. yeah i agree...how much do you think i OC with a stock cooler?
  22. yeah im pretty sure it is not supported for non x second gen chips..tough.... online a say i guy enable pbo with ryzen 7 2700x with the same board as me and it is an option on his bios but not mine...
