  1. Yeah it will mainly just used for storage and to stream from so mostly will be sat idle, I currently just have loose HDDs that I plug up to my current build and put want I want from them onto thumb drive then plug into tv, haha I'm just after quicker access from that
  2. So I am planning on building a home NAS, but curious on how much CPU you actually need to run such a build, as I have a at least 3 AM3 mobos and a Athlon ii x2 and a phenom 955 BE just sitting around. I am thinking the 955 will be too power hungry for this type of a build?
  3. It is well weighted and does not move, and I can see it lying completely flat once its settled, as its supplied rolled in a box. I don't believe the price is extortionate for the size and quality.
  4. My Northern Lights desk pad arrived today, looking pretty good!!
  5. Well for £27 for 20 metre of Cat 8, I've decided to run that upstairs through ceiling and under floorboards, as once its done I won't have to worry about it for many years to come.
  6. The second part is because with how fast over the air signal is becoming, that wired to house could become obsolete, and basically you will just have WiFi discs that pick up this signal boost it and you can also connect Lan to these discs so could have a fast wired connection anywhere, few years off yet though.
  7. Ok thanks for the responses, so going with running a Lan cable would be roughly 17 metre distance and going to route underfloor boards ect, so thinking cat 8 to make it future proof so will last a few years or is this expense not worth it, as maybe 5g wireless signals to discs in house will become main stream?
  8. Hello all, on the topic of networking, I'm planning on moving downstairs office to upstairs, would it be best to move router up stairs too or just run a Lan cable from it? Is there an easier way that I'm missing? in office there is x2 laptop and x1 desktop (prefer this wired for games) and printer. Thanks all in advance.
  9. Ok thanks for that, I did run there test, and with RT on it did drop my score by like 9,000 points.
  10. Hello, came across this today on world of tanks website, https://youtu.be/dXbjmF--QVc and was wondering if this is actually RayTracing and if so why did Nvidia release RTX cards for RT?
