  1. thanks! one more thing about used resources, is there a program that I will see usage of GP/ CPU that isn't shown in task manager? for example, I'm running ffmpeg encoding on WSL and I see GPU is under 80% usage in task manager, but it doesn't show any program that takes these resources.
  2. got you, and it will be automatically be released when regular programs need it? is there a way to see the 36GB cached memory usage? like what files?
  3. Hello, I have 64GB memory and task manager reports 64% usage, but If I add up the process list, it's no where close to it.. I can find about 4-5GB out of 40GB in use... where can I find a list of everything ? I added some screenshots. task manager is running as administrator thanks
  4. one end of the cable, looks like this see the 8 pin? it has 1 empty pin, bottom right, like in flipo image , and the 2+6 has all the pins connected the 2+6 is "pig-tail" to the 8 pin. i connected the 8 pin which seems to be the main one
  5. The end that goes into the PSU has all the pins. The other end has 8 pin , with one empty and pigtail 6+2 I connected the 8 pin with the empty pin, not the pigtail
  6. there is an 8 pin that goes to the power supply and there is another 8 pin at the other side with another 6+2 pig tail attached to it. from flipo reply, it seems that I can connect the 8 pin that has one empty pin
  7. Hello, Quick question, there is the Type-4 cable, which doesn't seem to be have the connection for this card and then there are 2 pcie cables, both with 8 pin connection at the end + pig tails with another 6+2 I understand that it's better to connect 2 separate cables, but my question is, do I connection the full 8 pin which has 7 pin + 1 empty , or do I connect the pig-tails which has 6+2 , with no empty pins . thanks
  8. Hi Guys, I have 6 hard drives in my pc and recently added nvme which which caused 2 of my SATA connections to become unavailable (I understand it's normal and has something to do with PCI lanes) . So I'm looking to take 2 of the hard drives to an external enclosure, looking for 4 bay station. I'm not sure if I need NAS or not, I don't think I have eSata in my PC (biostar z97we hi-fi motherboard) , and I do think I need faster option then USB3, I was thinking, if possible, connecting the enclosure directly to the secondary ethernet port on my PC... possible? I'm not going to run games from these hard drives, probably just movies (up to 4k) with plex (installed on my pc, no need to install on NAS), pictures, docs, etc... What would you recommend? I've worked with Synology a little bit at work, but I'm not sure if I actually need all these features, at the end of the day I just need to be able to access the HD from my pc as fast as possible , I rather not have anything pointing to the internet (no cloud or anything) , just local network... Rather not spend more then $600, but can be flexible going over. Thanks
  9. How would enable remote desktop from remote if I have the admin password of one of the computers on the network? The end of the manual you sent does refer to some remote command to get list of software, but the command from that manual "Get-CimInstance" isn't recognize in my powershell, it might be for server only.
  10. Not looking for remote desktop, looking for remote management, like maybe WinRM if available in these windows versions? Imagine I want to deploy a new Anti-virus to all the computers on the network, or I want to check that everyone has their windows firewall enabled. I know that's all possible with a windows server and a domain , but I don't have that setup. Remote desktop is already enable, but the port isn't open in our router, so it's just available locally which I don't see as a security issue.
  11. Hi, In the office I work at we have about 30 stations, all with windows 10 and 7 there is no domain, no windows server, only a Linux Debian server that runs samba for our shared network drive. I'm looking for a way to manage them all from one location (one of the windows 7 stations) and I can't figure this out... I want to be able to enable remote desktop from remote, check installed software, maybe even install software from remote. Hopefully I'm in the right forum, wasn't sure if it's more network connected or operation system... Thanks.
