  1. Is there a program I can run to potentially diagnose this?
  2. So I just built a new PC a couple weeks ago containing: Ryzen 9 3900x AORUS RTX 2080 Ti G.SKILL Trident Z Neo 32gb (2x16) DDR4 3600 RMX 750w AORUS X570 Pro Wifi motherboard 2tb Samsung 970 Evo M.2 SSD H150i AIO If any other info is needed I can provide links to their respective Newegg pages. So about once every day and a half or so, my PC will just become non-responsive. It's not a full lockup, I can still move my mouse, and interact with any open programs exactly once, before said program freezes and becomes non-responsive in every way. Can't close it, can't do anything with task manager, the only thing that solves it is a quick reboot. Everything is at stock speeds, i have done exactly zero overclocking aside from enabling XMP for my ram to reach 3600 mhz. A quick google search turned up nothing, any info I did find was not quite the same type of freezing. Any ideas? Edit: I've checked temps, and my CPU rarely goes above 60c under load, and GPU tops out at 75c under load while gaming. Temps don't seem to have anything to do with the freeze, as I could be doing nothing but sitting here watching a youtube video when it happens.
  3. That's pretty much where I'm at. I have the rare opportunity to just get whatever I want without worrying about cost too much, and in this situation, I want the best of the best. The only real reason I made this thread was to sort of gauge how worth it a 2080 ti is compared to a 2080 (I honestly completely forgot about Super when I made this post, but generally, yes, this has all been about the ti vs. Super) Also, the matter of it being a $300-500 difference had me questioning it at first. I suppose I just naturally try to find deals when I can, I'm not used to splurging like this lol.
  4. Going 4k is eventually the plan, which is partially why I'm going for such monstrous parts. The other reason is that I don't want to have to upgrade my PC again for a long time.
  5. Thanks for the tips! That all seems a little overwhelming for me, so I might just go with an AIO to start, and upgrade to a custom loop later on when I have more time to play with it and test things.
  6. So, that actually brings up something else I'm interested in. I was planning on buying a watercooler for the CPU, but this will be my first time ever dealing with watercooling. As far as a custom loop goes, I sort of understand the basics of it, but do you have any tips on these? I.E. possibly parts suggestions, installation tips, etc?
  7. I'm normally a bit thrifty when it comes to building PCs, but I am building a high-end rig as a christmas present for myself, so my budget is very flexible for the first time ever. Normally, I'm the same way, but I had some good fortune come my way recently so I'm splurging.
  8. Not at all! I'm just trying to find the right video card for what I'm building, and if a 2080 Super is the right card for just 1440p gaming and streaming, then I'm all for it. Even if you add streaming into the equation? I plan on livestreaming quite a bit once I get this card, and (I might be wrong here) I know GPU doesn't come into play much with livestreaming, I just want to make sure I will be able to stream whatever I want. Edit: This PC will have either a Ryzen 9 3900X or 3950X in it, so I know CPU won't be a bottleneck.
  9. I'm planning a new build in about a month, and I'm a little torn between an RTX 2080ti and a regular old RTX 2080. Is the extra $300-500 USD worth it for 1440p gaming and streaming?
  10. Thanks a bunch! One last question. Would I lose too much performance downgrading to a regular RTX 2080 over the Ti running QHD? I don't really plan on going up to 4k any time soon.
  11. Thanks a ton for the list! It all looks good to me. Only other thing I might ask is, I'm looking for a monitor that would go well with all this. Preferrably 144hz, 2560x1440 (What is this even called? 2k? UHD?) Monitors are probably the peripheral that I am least knowledgable about, and I wouldn't mind going a little over budget to pick up a nice one. Essentially, I'm mainly just looking to make the jump from 60hz to 144hz.
  12. Hey there folks, first time on this forum. I'm planning on building a new high-end PC next month, and it's been at least 4 years since I've built my own, so I'm a little out of the loop with current tech and advances that have been made. Here's what I'm looking for: 1. Budget & Location I have a budget of $2,500-3,000 USD, I live in North America. 2. Aim I plan on getting into streaming on a single PC, or potentially using my old PC as a streaming platform, but that's not essentially a necessity. 3. Monitors I already have a pair of 3-year old 1080p 24" 60hz monitors, but I'm looking to get at least one monitor that runs at 144hz minimum. Preferrably also at 2560x1440 resolution 4. Peripherals No peripherals, just the desktop and a monitor. 5. Why are you upgrading? My current PC is about 4 years old, and I'm still stuck on an LGA 1150 board with an i5 4690k. I do have a GTX 1070 as well, and oftentimes I've got more recent games like Modern Warfare maxing out my CPU at 100%, while barely breaking 40% of my GPU load. On top of all that, any game that's been released in the last year, I'm wholly incapable of livestreaming it, and I want to change that. I've waited about as long as I can, but this PC just can't seem to run most modern games at anything higher than medium. Also, to be quite honest, even if I wasn't having these problems, it's just been so long since I've built a rig that I feel it's time for me to dive back in and get something nicer for myself. Note: I've never used watercooling before, and even if it's not entirely necessary for my new build, I would like to include it because I simply want to learn how to install and maintain watercooling firsthand. I'm not terribly picky about aesthetics, and as much as I like building nice looking things, I value function over form, so any RGB that might be included in anything will simply be a bonus, but not a necessity. Sorry if I shouldn't be posting this here, I've only just recently discovered Linus' channel and forums. Thanks for reading!
