  1. hello all, i've recently encountered this bizarre problem where my 1060 GPU keeps running and stopping on its own while using my laptop to brow the net. now i checked the task manager and it seems that nothing is using the dedicated gpu at all and yet it keeps turning on and off every couple of minutes on its own and it doesn't go over roughly 3-4%. i've never seen something like this and have no idea how to fix it except for disabling the driver manually every time i finish playing a game from the device manager which isn't a real solution. it bothers me because it heats up my laptop for no reason and the fans becomes loud on this shitty 2018 predator helios 300 which have bad cooling solution in the first place. gpu 0 is my integrated gpu, gpu 1 is the 1060 and nothing is using it would really appreciate any tips on how i fix this. i should note that this only started happening after i formatted my laptop couple of days ago
  2. i ended up removing the hdd and starting the pc and either moved or deleted all the files on the hdd to the ssd's and then disconnected my hard drive for good. it's working great now but i i have 2 less terabytes to work with now.
  3. i tried disconnecting my hdd and windows launched immediately. i don't get it
  4. hello all, i just built my first pc and when i first built it i had my 2 ssds connected (my windows is installed on the 500gb ssd and i have another 1tb ssd) and it started windows no problem and everything is fine with my pc. now i go to install my third and last storage device a 2tb hdd and i opened my bios. it shows all my 3 drives connected fine but when i go on the boot priority order the only drive that's showing is my hdd and none of my ssds. obviously now the system can't launch windows at all. my question is how do i add those ssds to the priorty boot list instead of my hdd. i'm using a x570 gaming edge wifi MB from msi btw
  5. i already bought a 3800x and a x570 motherboard yesterday on black Friday. i got a good deal on the 3800x and paid the same price as the 3700x before the black Friday discounts. super excited for it to arrive!
  6. i do quite a bit when i play on my second monitor. i don't stream but i have a lot of things open and a decent amount of chrome pages. i'm a studying software development and i hear that compiling codes can be heavy so i'd rather stick with an 3700x or 3800x just depends if i can find a good deal on the 3800x. also better for future proofing i'm assuming
  7. i see well i'm glad because i really wanted to go with an amd 3rd gen seems it's a way better value.
  8. hello all, i had a question and wanted your guys input. would is matter which cpu i go with (3700x,3800x,9700k) if i have a gtx 1080 in my rig? all the cpu performance charts are with a 2080ti which is way more powerful than my 1080 so i assume my 1080 would be the bottleneck and not any of those three cpus right? i have a 2k monitor 144hz and like to play at 2k quality not 1080p which i assume makes the 1080 bottleneck even more obvious. and whatever setting gets me at least 60-90 fps. i currently have i7-4770k (4th gen intel with 4 cores and 8 threads and it's holding my 1080 way too much. cpu is at 100% all the time when i play and i get choppy gaming experience even tho my 1080 is only working at 50-60%) if the performance isn't that different i'd rather go with amd's 3700 or 3800 rather than intel.
  9. huh that's interesting that it has optical audio since the soundbar came with a cable and it's in fact recommended to use it. sucks that they didn't include it in the i/o shield so i can just connect it but so far i bought an aux to aux cable and the audio is working so that's good but i'll definitely look into it because i'm upgrading my cpu and mobo when black friday comes i'm currently running a 4th gen intel cpu lol. thanks man for the great information
  10. yeah it's Soundcore Infini Mini Soundbar By Anker. https://www.soundcore.com/products/variant/infini-mini/A3370111
  11. No the aux is supposed to go into the soundbar according to the manual. But from what you said I assume those channels are for aux inputs not rca? So I would need aux to aux cable then
  12. hello all, i'm having a difficulty trying to connect a 2.1 soundbar to my pc via the 8 channel hd audio on my motherboard. first of all my motherboard is gigabyte z87x-hd3. i pulled this out from my motherboard manual. http://prntscr.com/pwd0n7 and this is the aux to 2 rca cable i'm trying to connect to my motherboard audio http://prntscr.com/pwd0x4. i'm not even sure if i can connect rca to my motherboard directly but it fits however i get no audio and i tried all the channels. any help would be appreciated. audio is really not my strong point in pc's
