  1. Hello everyone I'm hoping for some advice. Given the price of the 5800x is around $330 dollars who thinks this is worth the upgrade? I use my pc mostly for gaming and some 3d modeling. For anyone who has done this was it worth it? 3800x msi gaming plus x570 3600 32gb of ram nvme for boot 280 rad 3070
  2. I have not messed with the memory overclocking at all. Do I just change the axmp profile to a higher speed?
  3. Why is it safe to run boosted clocks at around 1.4 Volts but not a all core over clock? The max is 1.5. I know More volts = more heat so I would think that staying under the 95c and being stable shouldn’t matter what the volts are. I’m just trying to understand the difference. My aio cooler compared to stock lowered the temp by 20c If I remember correctly.
  4. Iv tried it. My cpu does not like it. It undervolts fine but crashes during over clocking every time.
  5. Hello I have Ryzen 3800x, msi gaming plus, 3600 32gb of memory and and corsair h115 AIO cooler. I get 4.4 ghz stock boost clock around 65c.under full load it drops to around 4.2ghz. I have tried all core overclocking before and could only get 4.5ghz with around 1.42v and got a little nervous. So my question how far can i go? Iv googled it and people say not to go over 1.3ish volts. Over that they can get damaged.. blah blah. vcore runs about 1.4 and above all the time. I know ryzen doesn't overclock well hoping i could get some insight and learn a little. What are your thoughts? Iv tried under volt but don't really see the point. Thanks in advance.
  6. I found Supermicro X8DTH-i local for $60. It has duel xeons E5620. Does anyone know if truenas will work with this?
  7. Thanks for the help. Id like to make a truenass out of it.
  8. Hello I have 64gb of ddr3 pc3-12800u. It was given to me and I would like to find some use for it. It is EEC memory according to google. I'm looking for a board but having no luck. I have 64gb. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
  9. Update 11/27/19 I received my h115i and started to install and noticed just bc there are 2 spots for 140mm fans the radiator will not fit on my coolermaster h500. The fans will hit the motherboard (x570). The 280mm h115 is really nice and decided that i wanted to keep it.I struggled to hold the pump and install the radiator at the same time. But after some fiddling i was able to install in the front with a push pull config. Running cinabench r15 at 4.3mhz cpu temps hit 76.3C with stock cooler running the fan at 100% After installing the H115i the max temp i reached was 64.8C. The sound level was decreased dramatically with only slight water noise from the pump. Overall i am very satisfied. Again thanks for everyones help.
  10. Now i feel dumb. I have a 140mm as a top exhaust. according to the website it says only a 240mm with fit But there are holes for two 140mm=280mm radiator. That makes more sense since its a larger cooler for only a couple bucks more. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it. https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/cases/mid-tower/mastercase-h500/
  11. If i do a 280mm it would have to go behind my fans in the front. with a push pull config. I cant seem to find anything online so i can see what it looks like.
  12. Hello All I was hoping for some advice. i upgraded to a 3800x ( love it) with Black Friday coming the H100i is 129.99. i run the amd overclocking to 4.3 but the fans run at 100% and are kinda noisy. My question is will i see a benift for noise and temps with the h100i? What do you guys think? i'm running the cooler master h500 case with the plan to run as a top exhaust. Iv heard that the AIO coolers are not a quiet as other air coolers but air is big bulky and ugly. What would you do? Below is the cooler. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/corsair-hydro-series-h100i-rgb-platinum-120mm-processor-liquid-cooling-system-with-rgb-lighting-black-silver/6306564.p?skuId=6306564
  13. Thanks everyone for help. I ended up going with the 3800x. Shuttering problems are gone and it’s so fast. It was only $30 more then the 3700x. CPU usage on Bl3 is around 20%. Next will be a gpu upgrade.
