  1. I'm more interested in Dolby Vision for the dynamic metadata. I know HDR10+ can do it also, but it seems like almost no one supports it.
  2. Hi, I just bit the bullet and bought a Samsung Q70 65" for $930 US. It seems like a really good deal, comparing it to the 2019 and 2020 TVs on the market. My main concern is lack of Dolby Vision support. Did I make a mistake buying it? My other potentials were the 65" Visio P9 ($999 US) and the 55" LG B9 ($1299). Obviously the LG is by far the best, but I think I'd like a 65". I can still cancel my order, so just wanted to get some opinions. Thanks!
  3. Hi All, I just wanted to a bit of advice. I've recently built my first PC in 10 years, and my first ever with AMD GPU (5700XT). Only issue is, the last stable driver for me is 19.12.1. I've tried every version after that and always have some issue or another. This isn't a huge issue as 19.12.1 works great, but is this a common issue with AMD software? I've always heard AMD software was less reliable than team green, but I was also wondering if it was an issue with my specific card. Radeon Software Version - 19.12.1 Radeon Software Edition - Adrenalin 2019 Graphics Chipset - AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT (Gigabyte OC Windforce) Memory Size - 8176 MB Memory Type - GDDR6 Core Clock - 1835 MHz Windows Version - Windows 10 (64 bit) System Memory - 16 GB CPU Type - AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor Thanks!
  4. Thanks for the help!! I did some more digging and I think I found the culprit. Some part of my system does not like my memory running at 3600mhz. I believe everything is supposed to support it, so who knows why it isn't, but when I turn off my memory profile, and manually set it to 3200mhz (with the same CAS latency and all as the memory profile), it seeeems to work fine. Running at the lower speed doesn't really bother me. I just hope this solution works long term!
  5. My PC keeps randomly restarting, not too often, but just enough to be annoying. I can force it to restart any time if I run a CPU stress test (CPU-Z, Cinebench), but it also restarts under less CPU intensive situations like playing Overwatch (after long sessions generally). I checked thermals (my first thought), but CPU temps don't go above 85-90 decrees right before the restart. I'm running the latest BIOS and nothing is overclocked. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! System CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 (stock cooler) Mobo: Asus B450-F GPU: GIGABYTE Radeon RX 5700 XT GAMING OC 8G RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G5 OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
  6. If you can't return anything, I'd see how much you can get for the processor and GPU selling second hand, and upgrade those first. With that money plus the $600, you could probably upgrade to a 2070 super or 5700XT, and a 3600 or 3700X.
  7. So my MSI Tomahawk Max B450 died a week into using it. I'd get a replacement as I assume this is just a one-off DOA case. The issue is they're out of stock most places and I'm impatient. I looked at going one step up to the MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC, but it is out of stock too. I'm using the board with a 5700XT & Ryzen 5 3600. I don't really overclock beyond Ryzen Master Precision Boost. Would the ASUS - ROG Strix B450-F work for my use case? I've seen some negative reviews but they mainly seem to reference VRMs that are bad for overclocking. Thanks so much for the help!
  8. I'm on the latest firmware I did try that (forgot to mention sorry) and no luck I tried another cable and no luck I don't have another PSU to try unfortunately. The card seeeeeems to be getting power (both 'no power cable' indicator lights are off, RGB is on, and the card outputs a black signal to the display). I'm doing an RMA on the motherboard on the hope it fixes the issue. Thanks so much for the help!!
  9. I'm having a very odd issue with my new PC. It worked fine for about a week. Now it isn't detecting any video cards. The cards work fine in other systems. The LEDs on the card indicate they're receiving power fine. I've made sure the display cables work. LEDs on the motherboard indicate that the CPU is fine, as it passes the boot check indicated by the on board LEDs. I re-seated the RAM. The BIOS was up-to-date., but I tried flashing a new copy of the BIOS to the board(which luckily can be done on this model without a display). Nothing has worked so far. It seems strange that the video card would suddenly stop being detected. I can't think of any other point of fault except for the motherboard. Any suggestions would be great! Motherboard: MSI Tomahawk Max CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700 Xt Gaming OC 8G PSU: EVGA Supernova 650 G5 Thank you very much for the help!! EDIT: Sorry just realized I should've posted in Troubleshooting!
  10. Hi, I just got a new 5700 XT (Gigabyte 5700 XT 8GB OC). I just want to make sure I have it configured correctly in Aorus Engine. I ran FurMark on a few different settings, and I seem to get the best score with the sliders cranked all the way up (score doubled). Just making sure I’m not doing something that could damage the card down the line? This is the first PC I’ve build in 10 years so I’m learning! I’ve attached screenshots of the default out of the box settings, and the ones I found gave the best score. Default got 3398 on the 1440p preset. Custom got 6137 on the same preset. Thanks for the help in advance!
  11. I was thinking that but I think I'd rather the higher resolutions. I play a lot of RPGs too.
  12. I'll be on a Rizen 3600 & RX 5700 XT. My game selection is a bit all over the place as it'll be two of us using the display (RDR2, WoW, Overwatch, CS). I'm US based.
  13. I'm looking to buy a cheap 27" 144Hz, 1440p, 1ms gaming monitor on Black Friday sales. I have my eye on two options and would love some feedback as reviews on both are scarce. HP 27XQ ($279 US) vs Pixio PX276h ($249 US) Display quality-wise, both seem similar. The HP has cleaner industrial design and a better stand, but Pixio had HDR. The Pixio is slightly cheaper, so I could get a 3rd party stand for the difference. https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16824737002?Description=pixio&cm_re=pixio-_-24-737-002-_-Product https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16824276688?Item=N82E16824276688 EDIT: I'll be running a Rizen 3600 & RX5700 XT Thanks!!
  14. I'm gearing up to buy a new system in a few weeks. I found what seems like a low price on this GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2070 WINDFORCE 8G for $399 US. My alternate pick would be GIGABYTE Radeon RX 5700 XT GAMING OC 8G for $399 US. They seem to be similarly performing cards (1-3fps off), and I'd love to have the CUDA and RTX capabilities just in case. Would it be wise to switch to this weirdly cheap 2070, or stick with the 5700XT? Thanks in advance!!
  15. Thanks!! I love the look of the White 2060 Super, but seeing as that is a stupid reason to buy a component, I should probably find a 5700XT hahaha! For my mobo, now I'm thinking of spending a tiny bit more and going with the Asus PRIME X470-PRO. It has a few small features I'd like. Any advice if that would be better or worse than the Tomahawk?
