  1. BTW, is Armoury Crate a service or a software with a GUI? Is it the case that the Aura software needs Armoury Crate Service to run? Is my understanding correct? Finally, the fan and ROG logo button do nothing. Should they be launching something?
  2. Good Lord! I had to click 'Show All Downloads' under each subcategory to see the downloads!!! Thanks bud
  3. I am stumped. Just received a brand new Asus ROG Strix III (G531GW) and it appears to have no Asus software installed. I bought it in China and asked for an English OS which they gave me, but the retards made no attempt to install correct software and drivers on it. Where's Armoury Crate? And why is not available as a download on the support page? Even the numpad wasn't working until I downloaded the Precision driver pack (mediocrely packaged .bat file btw!). None of the ROG buttons (the fan button, the ROG logo button) or the Aura (left/right) keys work. I tried to download what I thought was the right software but nothing happens when I double click any of the .exes. Asus packages its software/drivers in the most retarded way! What software should be on there by default? Any help appreciated please. Thanks!
  4. Happy to consider the "better" options. Let me know what you got in mind. Yes, it's a little on the thicker side but the cooling and minimal throttling has to give way to something. Like I said, it's the best compromise I can find.
  5. I'm looking for the ultimate combination of sustained CPU turbo boost + GPU power + low noise + portability + battery life. Finally, after months of research mainly by comparing reviews on notebookcheck.com, I think I've found it with this ROG model: ASUS ROG Strix Scar III G531GW 15.6 Inch Full HD 240 Hz Gaming Laptop - (Black) (Intel i7-9750H, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 8 GB , 1 TB PCI-e SSD, 16 GB RAM, Per Key RGB) Anyone disagree or have another one to suggest?
  6. I'm no expert in PC/laptop cooling. However, what I do know is that the hundreds of laptop cooling pads out there achieve near nothing in terms of cooling advantage for gaming purposes. And for this reason a new strategy needs to be explored. The problem with gaming laptops as we know is they get super hot and thus the CPU/GPU processing power needs to be scaled back, either by physical design or other means like throttling. To get good cooling, the current strategy is to cram it with bigger and nosier fans, all resulting in the laptop gaining an inch or two in thickness which puts a major dent into the practicality and portability aspect of a "lap" top. Is it inconceivable to produce a laptop that allows for external/additional/supplemented cooling by virtue of an access door/entry point either underneath or on the back? The link below is to a small and portable A/C unit, heck they do not have to even be that small! I'd gladly have a bigger one in my room! https://www.amazon.com/HoMedics-Personal-Technology-Nightstand-PAC-20/dp/B072WQX2YX?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_3 With some design changes you could channel the cool air into a hose that then through a connector/adapter can be plugged into the right place on a laptop thus aiding the cooling process. I would guess a near 100% improvement in cooling given the right amount of input pressure. We have eGPUs, why not eCooling? Thanks!
