  1. =(. Thanks for teaching me, at least now I know. How can I tell if I damaged my audio ports? I plugged in some speakers after reading this and I still heard everything. There's also friction when I put in a regular audio jack. Is there a way to see if I just killed my audio ports? Felt like I might've pushed them in more than what I should've.
  2. Hello everyone! Recently bought some new bookshelf speakers for my PC. ( https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-powered-bookshelf-speakers-pair-black/5283401.p?skuId=5283401 ). I think the IO shield from my motherboard is preventing the RCA cables from entering completely, because all I get is buzzing and the cables don't seem to be all the way in. When I connect my speakers via a regular audio cable (single black cable) they work just fine, so I don't think the jack is bad on my motherboard. I'm using a B450 tomahawk max and I'm pretty sure I installed the IO shield correctly because it snapped in on all the corners and edges. I've also been able to get the Bluetooth to work so I think the speakers are fine. Has anyone ever had an issue with the IO shield blocking the RCA cables? From what I can tell just from browsing, all RCA cables' metal inputs seem to be the same length. Do you guys think there's something defective with the hardware that I missed? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking your time to read this and I hope you have a great day!
  3. Update: 1.) I decided to try updating windows by just checking for updates and downloading them. This time I had no issues and was able to bring windows 10 up to date. Interestingly enough, no nvidia drivers were shown during regular updates, but was detected by windows because I checked display adapters under device manager. 2.) I'm using an ASUS PCE-AC55BT wireless adapter and a GeForce 1660 ti with a Ryzen 3600. From what I can tell, the ASUS wifi adapter uses software from Intel. Not sure if mixing 3 different devices with different parent software has anything to do with it. 3.) Under Other Devices in Device manager, I have 2 PCI devices that are unregistered and 1 PCI Encryption/Decription Controller. I've updated both drivers from what I can tell, but I don't know how to be 100% certain. 4.) Since updating my PC, I've only had one incident where I get "Page fault in nonpaged area" along with "What failed: Netwtw06.sys". I looked it up and most people seem to say it's an intel wireless driver. So it's referring to my ASUS wireless adapter? I've checked multiple times on Intel's driver support website that states I'm up to date. I've double checked the driver for my GPU and it seems to be fine. 5.) My final thoughts are that the unregistered PCI device are what's causing my PC to crash. I don't know what to do because I only have 2 items in PCIe lanes and are up to date. I've tried updating the device manually only to say that the drivers couldn't be found on the internet. Please if anyone has any idea of what is going on, I would greatly appreciate your help and would like to return the favor by helping anyone else out in a similar situation. Thanks for taking your time to read this and I hope you have a great day!
  4. I just followed the video. I used a usb drive. Post screen was fine, as was windows before and after I connected to the internet. I even managed to install some of Nvidia drivers. On the second attempt to update, I ran into the issue. I can't remember exactly what it was but it some network update that said 3.5 to 4.0 for Windows. My asus pcie card let me connect to the internet without having to download drivers, so I don't think it was that
  5. Hello everyone! I just finished building my PC and it was going well until I started doing regular updates. I was following this tutorial ( ). However, on one of the updates I got a blue screen with the stop code "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" followed by "What failed: Netwtw06.sys". Afterwards I could only use my PC 5 mins at a time before I'd get the same screen and it'd restart itself. I can't remember which windows update failed, but I did notice that a lot of people had trouble with it as I found multiple solutions when I searched the code. I restarted my PC while holding the SHIFT key and got to the advanced options under troubleshooting and tried to uninstall my updates. It couldn't uninstall the updates, and I'm not experienced with safe mode so I ended up resetting my PC. I haven't purchased the product key yet as I was planning on doing that afterwards. I haven't tried installing any updates because right now my PC is working fine after the reset and I don't know what went wrong the first time. How can I go about updating my PC and setting it up for regular use without causing issues? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance and I hope you guys are having a better day
  6. Thanks! I'll try to simplify things for myself, but with all the free sources out there I'm just trying to learn as much as I can because everyone's situation/needs are different. I didn't even consider how close my parts would be for cooling. I'll look into it, thanks again!
  7. Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone could help explain some the differences between some of the motherboards I'm considering. For some backgropund info, I'm making my build around the Ryzen 3600. I chose an EVGA 1660ti, 16gb (2x8) corsair vengeance 3000 mhz, and a Samsung 970 evo m.2 drive for storage. I haven't chose a power supply yet, because I've been told they get a little bit cheaper around black Friday, but I plan on going with a corsair CXM 650w 80+ bronze. As for my case, I purchased the Fractal Design Focus G ATX Mid Tower Case. Although I do not plan on overclocking initially, (because I think my PC should handle 1080p gaming just fine) I would like to future-proof my PC a bit by having that option down the road. My first option was the x570 Aorus Elite because I don't have a previous gen CPU and the stores around me are charging around $40-50 for a BIOS update on a b450. However, after doing looking around I've heard people complain about the BIOS of that board when overclocking. My second choice was the b450 tomahawk, but I don't feel comfortable doing the BIOS update myself. Even if I borrow a CPU from AMD, I've heard some people have still had issues with it. My third option is the x570 Asus tuf gaming. However, with this board there were some incompatibilities with the power supply and from what I understand has different power components for overclocking? ***Could someone help explain to me how different electrical components help aid in overclocking and reliability? Or perhaps a good resource? (too many on the internet) Which motherboard should I go with? (leaning towards an x570) What makes the 2 x570 boards I chose better than the b450 if at all? How important is the chipset if it still supports the Ryzen 5 3600? If I plan on making my PC last me about 4-5 years is it better to get a x570? What are the differences between a brand's BIOS? I have a hard time distinguishing the subtle details that makes a board worth $200 vs $300. I kind of just check for CPU compatibility and a modern IO panel.*** Don't know if it'll help with any response I may get, but I've tried to learn what I can without firsthand experience. I've looked at different motherboard manuals and I've learned about different CPU sockets (intel vs amd), dual-channel advantages, PCIe slots, what to look for in the IO panel, and a basic idea of where to plug stuff in. Thanks for taking your time to read this and any help would be greatly appreciated!
