  1. Without modding the case, is 356mm actually the max length for GPUs in the NR200P v2, or does it have extra room like the original? I'm specifically trying to fit the ROG STRIX 4080 SUPER which sits at 358mm.
  2. id love to go amd but i need the x3 m.2 slots and the 10gbe.
  3. I own a minisforum already and like it a lot. They are a bit more than other options, but i find them to be pleasant to work with. And they are smaller.
  4. I dont know much about P and E cores on the newer intel CPU's, and im wondering which CPU would be more in line with what i need? I plan on using this for active storage and a few game VMs that will never be ran at the same time. All the games run with single or dual core max. I will be using unraid and am planning to use x3 4TB M.2 drives and 10gbe from the server to my main system. Disregarding future proofing, do i NEED the i9 to utilize the 10gbe and a single active game server utilizing max 2 cores?
  5. the only coolers that fit the case i want are 240mm aios and low profile air coolers which im certain would throttle. thats why im asking about the 240mm aio
  6. Im trying to cool a 7700X and was wondering if a 240mm AIO would handle it. I know a tower air cooler or a 280mm would do a better job, but im just curious if a 240 CAN?
  7. Trying to take advantage of a store's 3-in-1 combo deal that unfortunately uses a ATX board. The deal is over $240 less than buying everything separate, otherwise yeah, id use mATX. Saving that money allows for a higher end gpu, otherwise id skip the deal.
  8. I am trying to find some smaller cases that fit ATX motherboards and larger modern gpus at the same time. Im aware of the SSUPD Meshroom S, but sadly its near impossible to get one right now, and I figured there had to be some alternatives. What, if any, are some good alternatives in the relative size range of the Meshroom S?
  9. i mean im sure i could, but it baffles me there are no GSM powered cordless landline style phones. wouldnt have to spend extra on an ip based service if they existed.
  10. i have a full fiber ONT. but because of the home phone, it requires the ISP's modem/router combo for the phone to function. I want the modem gone, but want to keep the phone number and have a home phone style device in my home using the number. I was looking for a GSM device so i can hse an existing line with my cell provider as the home phone.
  11. Im trying to eliminate the need for a modem with my ISP without losing my 25yr old landline (i dont want/need another smartphone laying around). Im looking for a cordless landline phone that supports GSM. I cant find one anywhere. just a bunch of phone link junk. Is there anything out there i can use?
  12. I mean, with overprovisioning I could likely get away with 24 cores, but at the moment (not added all the servers), its at roughly 65% at peak times. Edit: its really more about having the headroom if its needed then it is about utilizing the entire cpu immediately.
  13. would the AMD EPYC 7502 be a safer bet then? The price more than doubles, but its still cheaper than a 32 core used threadripper
  14. Im currently using the 5950x but have ran out of cores. The VM's are being used for game development testing servers and also general game hosting (a large variety of games at once). The goal was to upgrade to 32 cores and Threadripper is insanely priced compared to what it used to be at.
  15. I am looking to upgrade my current VM/NAS server with more cores, which is leading me to the AMD EPYC platform. I have some Xeon knowledge when it comes to motherboards but none with AMD EPYC. Im looking for SSI-EEB, SSI-CEB, EATX, and ATX motherboards, used is fine, that supports the AMD EPYC 7551, 128gb ram, and at least x2 PCIe 3.0 16x lanes? Budget would be as low as possible but max $400, USD, USA. Does anyone know any good options?
  16. I am looking for a cheap 400watt SFX power supply for my NAS. I am trying to stay below $80 USD if possible. All the models I know of are $120+. Are there any good lesser known budget brands that make decent psu's? Note: dont need modular
  17. i dont have any fancy settings like that in BIOS, but the tape idea was my last resort.
  18. its off off, but power is still going to it. Thats why some motherboards have light on when they are off as well, though typically that can be turned off in bios. so far ive just had to hit the PSU switch every time i turn off the pc.
  19. Ive never seen this before, but the red status led on the power connector doesnt turn off when the pc does. Its off while the pc is on, but when its off, its extremely annoying because of how bright it is. Ive checked the cable, and tried a spare i had. im not sure if its intentional? maybe there is a way to shut it off? The card is a Asus ROG Strix 4080 Super.
  20. Looking at buying a 4TB NVMe drive and was wondering if this should still be a consideration. In the past, DRAM served a bigger purpose, and made a huge difference on performance, but with the speed increases on read/write as well as the growth of error correction, is spending $50-$100 more for DRAM worth it (on higher capacity drives obviously)? Is there any reason to argue HMB is significantly worse than DRAM cache with all the improvements with SSDs?
  21. Apparently the 280mm doesnt fit afterall, but the 240mm does, and since the cpu will likely never be under full load. it shouldnt be a problem. Thanks for the recommendation!
  22. Im actually using some arctic p12 and f12's on my main build right now. I love arctic fans. I had heard they made coolers but didnt know anything about them. Thanks, ill check it out.
  23. I am looking for a cooler for my home server which i recently shrunk down into a SSUPD Meshroom S. I am currently trying out an all copper low profile cooler (big shocker its not enough haha). I need a 240/280mm aio but want one that doesnt have all these fancy rgb cables and other cables that just add clutter. The fewer cables the better. Price doesnt matter, USD, North America USA. What are my options?
  24. I am trying to air cool my 5950X in the Meshroom S case, which has a 74mm max cooler height. I know the Thermalright AXP120-X67 1700 is capable of cooling the 12900k, and was wondering if there are any comparable coolers that can cool the Ryzen?
  25. I owned a mac mini once, and it was a impressive for its size, but the resale value on the base model was terrible. I have a massive overkill server atm but im shrinking it down significantly and selling most of the parts cause i am buying music equipment. But ive always wanted to try a min i pc, I just knew i couldnt really game on it. so I use an SFF for my main rig, as small as i could without losing a proper gpu.
