  1. Honestly I used the UK one because I'm based in UK and was too lazy to change it Apprecaite the input tho I shall relay all this information to my friend!
  2. They don't but I had honestly have no idea about AMD GPU's despite being team red for CPU Thank you for this tho! Great suggestions in this
  3. Budget (including currency): 1000 Euro Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: General Gaming PC Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So I've made a rough budget esque PC for my friend who lives in germany for a new PC build. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/tMK6GL Those prices are in GBP because I'm in the UK but it's for my friend who lives in germany. I'd ideally like to make this a bit cheaper for gaming at 1080p 60fps in most games and I was wondering what improvements you guys could think of to save some money? I've gone Ryzen because I've always gone team red so don't know what would be a good blue equivelent if that would be a good cost save? Any improvements would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
  4. Yeah leaking noise isn't an issue and honestly I'd probably prefer open backed to get some air into my ears as well as I can get headaches for wearing headphones for too long.
  5. Yeah I'm not hyped on oversaturated base, especially now where I'm doing a lot of my lectures online I don't really need anything super basey I'd rather hear speech fully etc etc
  6. Brilliant thank you. I'll have a look, I was thinking about Sennheisers, specifically looking at the HD 560S, but wasn't sure if reference headphones we're a bit too flat for what I'm looking for. Although admittedly I don't know that much about Audio so I could be chatting complete bollocks. I mean, as long as it doesn't pick up mechanical keyboard behind it at stuff, it means I can at least have my speakers on low for it to work
  7. I don't mind the brand, I've always had a fair enough of logitech gear so I don't hate them or anything. I was just looking at avoiding "gaming" headsets and looking for something with a more balanced sound profile. I don't mind messing around with the sound settings but do you know if that's mono directional? I ask because I'd like to have a desk mic that also lets me use speakers without picking them, up too much if at all (not even sure that's possible)
  8. So, I'm looking at replacing my current headset (Logitech G933) with a decent pair of headphones + a standalone microphone. Does anyone have any suggestions for some fairly nice (not exactly audiophile but decent) headphones that are comfortable to wear with glasses? My current headset pinches them to my head a bit too tightly so I've been using my computer without my glasses but recently I've noticed I need them more and more. Also any suggestions for a decent desk mic would be great, I'm not gonna be streaming much (just a for fun F1 league I do at the weekend) so it's more just for discord etc. Thanks for any help!
  9. I think around £200, we have a board decided and I think it's the ROG B550 board IIRC. This was a if I was getting one what did I need for Ampere, we know what we need for my Dad
  10. He's only going for a 3600x with my old 1070, so a b550 would do for him.
  11. So my Dad is upgrading to Ryzen from a Phenom II I think he's running. Obviously to do that he needs a motherboard upgrade. We were thinking he could use mine and I could upgrade to one that natively supports PCIe4 given a motherboard has to be bought either way.
  12. I have been misinformed then. Yeah what I read was needing a firmware update to get it to run. As long as there is enough bandwidth I should be gucci, however as someone in this house is getting a new mobo, its just out there to explore the options.
  13. Yeah I don't really need the SATA slots as I'm not running a server with it :') Integrated audio isn't really a deal breaker for me as, while I appreciate the difference, I'm not a giga audiophile. And as I said because the 3080 (the card I'm planning to get after looking at reviews) doesn't support SLI. Not having SLI really means nothing to me
  14. I've got the ROG Strix X-470-F which is why I suggested that and as my Dad is getting an upgrade anyway it makes sense for me to get one that gives me breathing room with Ampere, from what I have read. I can make it compatible with PCIe4 with a firmware upgrade, but you just don't have access to the full performance
  15. So, I'm back with more hardware questions. I'm upgrading my mobo to be ready for Ampere GPU's. My Dad is gonna buy my current mobo and GPU which works perfectly for him so I was wondering what are the main differences between MSI MPG X570 GAMING PLUS and the ROG Strix X570-F. The only really differences I could find are the MSI doesn't support SLI (which ampere doesn't do anyway (unless you go 3090)) and some RAM speeds, but since I already have RAM and mine is supported by the MSI board, is there any reason to go for the ASUS one (or any more expensive mobo for that matter)?
