Reading the pcu itself it says intel core i5 i5-7400.

Like I said I’m kinda new to the whole pc thing and this one came prebuilt so I don’t quite know what the chipset is.

Yes one bright white light near the top of the case.

So I just picked up a i7 8700k pcu to upgrade from an i5, this computer was prebuilt and I’m finally able to upgrade it slowly. Anyways I have tried everything from updating my bios to checking wires and changing plugs and I get some lights and the fans spin for about 2 seconds before it stops again, I’m not the best with computers so if anyone could help out at a very dumbed down level I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks! Also I did check if my motherboard was compatible, and it says it was.
