  1. So in Jayz's Evga 4090 video, at 9:30, he talks about a driver update for the 30 series that increased performance by up to 20%. What is he referring to?
  2. Your motherboard has the required ports. A type a header and a type c header, it's probably just part picker being weird. The list is also set to private. Edit: I was looking at an older rev of the motherboard (Fixed my reply)
  3. So I have four drives in my system, a 980pro, sn550, a small sata ssd and a 3tb hdd. I installed StoreMi to link the small ssd and the hdd together. They work fine, but my problem is that StoreMi replaces the standard nvme controllers with it's own controllers. This causes both of my NVME drives to no longer appear in their respective manufacturer software. The drives otherwise work fine. Is there anything that can be done about this?
  4. Your problem seems to be caused by graphics drivers. Nvidia and AMD have different drivers and it's most likely the GPU and the drivers conflicting that's causing this. If you have anything you want to recover on the pc, run it on integrated graphics without a GPU and load up DDU and uninstall the drivers, then get the drivers for your new GPU . Or if there is nothing you want to keep on your pc, you could just boot from a Windows installer and format your drives.
  5. I am going to be redoing my PC soon, so I thought why not change up some of by peripherals. I have narrowed down my choice to two products. The Sennhieser GSX 1000 or the Razer Nari Ultimate. I am currently using a Hyper X Cloud Revolver S and I have to make this clear, it is in no way bad. It is more than good, but I enjoy the surround sound feature on the headphones. The only problem with that is that the surround sound gets distorted on low notes, which completely ruins it's use with the pieces of music that sound stunning with it on. So I had originally settled on the Gsx 1000. I get good surround sound and I can keep my headphones. I tried it out ,and it sounds leagues better than my headphone's built in solution. I can't really go the sound-blaster route as I prefer to have the ability of quickly switching surround on and off, as not everything sounds good with it on. The Razer cans on the other hand, they are the same price, seem pretty comfortable and I don't value surround infinitely high anyway. I know this is an apples to oranges comparison, but I just want to know any major things that I don't know about them. Like Razer is a mixed bag when it comes to quality, but it looks comfortable ( I know I should try them on before making assumptions ) . The only thing that I can think of a negative for the GSX is that it is too strong with microphone cancelling, but I have and external mic so it won't be a problem. Also I know surround isn't " True Surround " and it doesn't give any advantage over good stereo ,but I just like how it sounds. In retrospect this question has turned ultra long.
  6. First try and make sure that nothing else is broken. If you don't like the case it's up to you. Just pick a case which appeals to you and check out gamers nexus for a review as they have good case reviews.
  7. Hmm, all I can think of that you can try is that you can remove every cable coming from the case, including the power button. Then start the pc to rule out if it's the case that's causing an issue. It could be that another part of your pc got damaged due to the case.
  8. Are you sure you unplugged the right cable? A usb header should not have anything to do with a fan header. What motherboard are you using? Maybe just try and disconnect the entirety of the I/O panel , except the power/reset/hdd indicator wires.
  9. I need help choosing a 2080ti. As I am planning on water cooling, AIB cards with larger heatsinks that you pay extra for are an easy no. But I am having trouble with a single problem. Should I get an FE card or should I get a reference PCB Evga card. As it's reference I assume that performance will be the same. So is Evga's better warranty worth buying one of their cards over an FE card?
  10. I am planning on water cooling a 2080ti. Is it better to get a FE card and use a Heatkiller IV ( Or maybe a reference PCB Evga card) or should I get an Evga Hydro Copper 2080ti, or a FTW3 with an EKWB block? Would I get any improvements by going with an AIB or should I just stick to an FE card? I'm currently leaning towards getting an FE and I'll probably (or at least attempt to) overclock it higher. Also are there any warranty issues with taking a shroud off a FE card, if so then I'll probably go with a reference PCB Evga as I have heard that they have the best customer support and don't void warranties like that.
  11. As I said I understand. I am using RAID to basically mothball a few SSDs together for extra storage. I am going to be using a separate program for backing up data.
  12. I understand that, sorry for the confusion. I know RAID is a way to link up multiple of the same drives.
  13. By intensive I meant the occasional indie game. I now understand that the 2080ti can handle the dual monitors and I just fell for some fear mongering. Thank you for the help.
  14. Thank you for the quick reply. I just have one question. Would it be better if instead of an 8tb drive, I just get two 4tb drives and have one of them as a permanent backup. This is because the 8tb is also meant to be mass storage, so thats why I wanted to partition it, Thank you.
  15. Power draw won't be a problem. I already have a 1000w power supply so it should be more than enough. About the 0 upside part, so will it just be better to run a single gpu? The only reason I am asking this is the only other places I checked about this from, people said that anything intensive on the second monitor might make the gpu chug a bit. The 2080ti gets 100~ fps at my resolution. I am just worried about the performance, though I don't expect to be running more than chrome on the second monitor and maybe a game now and then. So is the dual gpu valid, or did I just fall for some fear mongering? Thank you for the reply.
  16. Hello, for my next build I am planning on getting a few 1tb sata SSDs and putting them together in raid 0. I am doing this to have a larger game drive. I already have an nvme for my os so I won't have to worry about that. About the drive failure part would it be sensible to have the SSDs backup to a HDD. HDDs are very cheap and I am planning on having an 8tb one so could I just partition it to the same size as the array and just back them up there? Thank you.
  17. Hello this may sound a bit stupid but, I am planning on making a new build. My current build is a 6700k and a 1060 6gb. I am planning to move to a 3900x and a 2080ti. As I am planning to use my current monitor with another better monitor, will it be possible if I can also my 1060? The 2080ti will be powering one of those 34 inch Alienware monitors, while the 1060 will be on a 29 inch 1080p lg. I know this isn't needed and I can run both monitors on the 2080ti, but I don't have plans on selling my old pc. Are there any downsides to this? All I can see is the Pcie arrangment, but Pcie 3 x8 is enough so pcie 4 x8 would be plentiful. Maybe the cpu cores won't be enough to split between the cards (if thats how it works) ? I just want some feedback over this choice, because if it is a stupid thing to do I won't do it. Thank you. (Also the 2080ti will be water cooled so thermals shouldn't be a problem?
