  1. So I tried my PC with a new CPU. To my surprise, nothing changed and I still have the issue. When I press the power button, the motherboard indicator LED flashes, red, then white, and sometimes green. The problem has gotten worse since I last posted. The PC will no longer boot at all and will restart itself after flashing the LEDs once through, with no results. I was able to get the PC to boot ONCE when I took out a stick of RAM. Still got the error LEDs on the motherboard though, which means there is still a problem. I’m even more lost than before I started troubleshooting
  2. Yeah I noticed the pattern change but I’m looking at the CPU again and I don’t see it. Some of the pins appear to have a slight white color at the base, and I’m looking at brand new CPUs and they look the same. I really don’t see any bent or missing pins
  3. There are no SATA data cables, both drives are M.2 I’ll check the RAM but I’ve had it for a few years and had no issues. There is a more recent BIOS update but it gave me other issues so I reverted to the previous one

Half the time when I boot into windows (whether that is after sleep, restart, etc) I will get an error saying "windows needs to be repaired". The other half I cannot even get to the BIOS. Occasionally the PC boots properly although it takes longer than it should with a NVMe drive. When I was removing the stock Wraith Max cooler during the build (by pulling and twisting), it pulled the CPU out of the socket. The CPU was locked into the socket at this point. I didn't notice any damage and was extremely careful to not touch anything when cleaning it up. When I first booted though, it said "new CPU detected" as if my CPU had never been in the mobo. Seemed to work fine for a bit but now the motherboard LED flashes red (indicating a problem with the CPU) sometimes before booting. After pressing the power button or restarting, the status indicator LED on the motherboard flashes red for about 3 seconds before turning white for another couple seconds. The PC either then restarts itself and repeats, getting stuck in a loop, OR after flashing white, the LED turns green and the PC boots properly. I've reinstalled Windows, cleared CMOS, reset BIOS settings, and taken the CPU back out of the socket to see if there is any damage for the second time. Here are photos of the CPU: https://imgur.com/gallery/jGyEV6K. None of this has changed anything. I see no damage or anything out of place with the socket too. I made sure to install windows on my new SSD correctly (970 Evo Plus). Never had this issue on my old boot drive (850 Evo). All BIOS and drivers are up to date. Does this mean my CPU is screwed? Or something is wrong with my SSD/windows?
