  1. I think I might have needed to quote you guys... Is there a big difference between changing the frequency manually to 3600 and using xmp (A-XMP?)?

  3. awesome, thanks for the answers. If you don't mind my bothering you a little more. Is there anything I should be double checking once i believe everything is completed? Not sure if there is a checklist or guide or anything like that. Just a little paranoid I will forget something.
  4. cool, so since I already have windows on a usb boot drive I should just go ahead and install that then look for drivers on my new computer instead of this one.?
  5. Not sure if this is the right place to ask this but... So this is my first non prebuilt computer and want to make sure I do things properly. I put together my computer and I am now in the BIOS screen. I just want some confirmation before i proceed with stuff. Do I need to update any Bios stuff before I install windows? Or should i be installing windows and then looking to see if there are any drivers that need updating? thank you
  6. Awesome, I appreciate the quick answers.
  7. Also is it fine to use just the 6 pin section from an 8 pin?
  8. Thanks, so both should be used. do you know what the purpose to having both is?
  9. I am putting together a new computer for myself. I have a 5700xt that I am putting in and noticed that there is an 8 pin and 6 pin connection. Should I be using one over the other or both? I originally assumed I would just be using an 8 pin but wanted clarification before I do anything. Thanks
  10. This is probably a stupid question but I figure better to ask a stupid question than to do something stupid. I will be putting a new computer together shortly and was just wanting to double check stuff. Does the stock cooler that comes with the 3600x already have a thermal pad on it? I assume it does because it doesn't look like bare metal but I want to just get some verification on that just in case. thank you
  11. not a 27" monitor but would a Samsung S32D850T be a decent monitor? if not I have been looking at a few different 27" monitors I can post and see about you all's opinions.
  12. sorry forgot to mention price range. I mainly just want to have a good value for the money spent. I have no issues waiting a bit and saving up for the monitor, but also want to get the best monitor for my money.
  13. I am trying to choose a 27" monitor. I have been looking at monitors and I asked earlier for some info on differences between them. I recently went and looked at a few to try and determine which resolution and refresh rate would work best for me. When comparing the differences, I could easily see one between the 1080 and 1440 monitors but couldn't see a huge difference between the 1440 and 4k ones (maybe my eyes are horrible or something). Unfortunately, where i was, they couldn't really show me the differences between refresh rates too well. So in regards to that I am still not sure which I would prefer. Would any of you all have any recommendations on a good 27" monitor that is at least 1440? If a higher refresh rate significantly worthwhile, then something that is greater than 60hz as well would be nice.
  14. This is a little bit delayed but... Thank you all for your help and suggestions. Better late than never I hope.
