  1. I have looked into this previously, and found the main aftermarket cooler available that isn't a waterblock/aio kit is this one: https://www.arctic.ac/uk_en/ax4.html And there are many videos and reviews saying that its dreadful, and not worth changing. The washer/thermal paste mod is more effective for thermals than that aftermarket cooler.
  2. Recently, I've been wanting to switch up my computer a little bit. My signature with my specs etc is fully up to date as of the creation of this post. I'll be linking all things mentioned at the bottom of this post. I have a Thermaltake Core P3, and the noise is starting to become a hindrance. I'm unable to have it on my desk due to having a very loud AMD RX 5700 XT reference card with the blower-style cooler. I'd like to have it on my desk for aesthetics, and I've spotted a few cases I like as a potential replacement. I love the Corsair 280X, however I have a full ATX motherboard rather than an M-ATX, so naturally I looked at the Corsair 680X and Lian Li O11 due to their similar designs. I love the dual chamber design, but my 240m rad would most likely leave the aesthetics to a bit of a struggle without buying a 360m to flesh out the full space appropriately within the 680X/O11. That of course is a bit of a 'beggars can't be choosers' moment, just being a bit of a picky bugger. I also love the NZXT H1, however once again, my motherboard would not fit the case. Just considering my options with what would be most beneficial for me, and would be willing to listen to any suggestions from the community as to what I could do. To avoid having to purchase a new case, I've thought about purchasing an AIO or watercooling loop to reduce the noise of the 5700 XT. In some cases, a similar or much higher price than a new case, but saves me buying a new GPU for a better cooler (and saves me from a janky after market cooler). I've thought about the NZXT Kraken X42 + G12 GPU adapter bundle from Overclockers UK. Amongst other watercooling solutions such as an EK waterblock. This of course would mean I'd have to buy a radiator, pump/reservoir etc, on top of the cost of a waterblock. Another option of course is a new GPU, however the performance of the 5700 XT is more than capable of what I'm wanting to run, so this is not a pressing issue for me currently. If I were to get a new GPU, I'd get either a 2070 Super, save for a 2080 Ti or wait for the drop of the 3000 series cards from Nvidia. Its also the much more expensive option. Just looking for opinions and ideas for what I could do, suggestions of cases and any other things you guys can think of. 3. This is extremely helpful, thank you! I've never been able to run the blue format discs in either my PS2s for some reason, could both be the same fault. I'll look into getting some isopropyl alcohol etc to clean the lens and see if that makes a difference. If not then I'll look into the prices of replacement modules to repair it. Thank you for the tips on replacing the modules too. I've never had to repair something like this before (only recently started building PCs and thinking of repairing things) and will be interesting to see how it all works and will hopefully be able to fix it properly etc. Will have help from my Dad who is thankfully a qualified electrician.
  4. So I decided I wanted to go back to my PS2 and play some older titles again during the quarantine period. I have one of the big boi PS2s, not a slim. Upon setting up my PS2, I had to do some dust removal, as its been a while since I've touched it. Most discs read without issue e.g. Gran Turismo 3, GTA San Andreas, Juiced, and other classic titles; however, my Gran Turismo 4 disc has issues. Although having minimal scratches, and being cleaned, the disc reads for about a second then stops. Is this an issue with the PS2 or with the disc? I would assume the PS2? Considering the disc is in really good condition. If anyone could help troubleshooting, or if someone knows the issue then a response would be very much appreciated. System Information: Console: SCPH-30003 R Browser: 1.20 CB Player: 1.20 PlayStation Driver: 1.10 DVD Player: 2.10E (This information may be useful for someone who knows more about the console than me, I don't really know).
  5. Thankfully now sorted the issue, think the "Enhanced Sync" might've still been turned on and its not optimised for a few titles.
  6. Have found where the option for it, however, when I turn it off it doesn't actually turn it off and it runs regardless. Very confused, and quite frustrating considering it doesnt drop fps in some games, but really effects others.
  7. I cant find the option to disable the AMD Overlay in my games with this set of drivers, it causes frame-rate instability in quite a few games (RDR2, Mordhau and multiple others I play regularly). Any idea on how to turn this off in the 19.12.2 Adrenalin software?
  8. Yeah, I heard (I think it was Asus) blaming AMD for cards going up in smoke due to the mounting pressure guidelines promoting less mounting pressure.
  9. I'll give that driver a go and see if there are any improvements. Thank you for the suggestion!
  10. I really don't know how much I'd get for the 5700 XT. I would guess around £350 max after spending £400 on it. Just got to hope that the 3000 series GPUs rival the price to performance (or better it) of AMD currently.
  11. Gamers Nexus has polls etc based upon whether AMD customers have had issues with drivers, and the majority have. So its not just a "small percentage of people". I am debating selling it, but will definitely see how those 3000 series GPUs are for Nvidia when we're closer to launch date.
  12. Drop down of system specs are all up to date and accurate.
  13. So I was an early adapter to the 5700 XT, and I have an MSI reference card with the blower cooler. This being my first actual PC build, I was ecstatic about putting it all together. I researched for a long time, finding price to performance and the benchmarks of the card, excited about the capabilities of it. And it is an impressive card. When it works, it's brilliant. H O W E V E R... Since launch, this card has given me multiple issues, and the teething problems with Navi still not being sorted is starting to get to not only me, but many others in the community. I've had so many black screen issues, display flickers, and other assorted problems; many, in recent months. I'm at a point where I regret purchasing the 5700 XT purely for how AMD has coped with the driver updates for the Navi platform. I know I'm not alone in the majority of these issues either, there are so many other forums and discussions about the same thing. Yet there only seems to be more and more issues arising with each update. I wish I had the funds to purchase an equivalent Nvidia GPU at this point. I've personally not had issues with their drivers before, and decided to go out in a whim for AMD, to attempt to get better performance at the £400 price point I had to work with. For now however, I'm stuck with such a clunky bit of hardware with terrible driver support. It's such a shame, honestly.
