  1. Thanks for your answer. I understand the benefit of building my own NAS. But on this case I would need to test the different NAS OS available and find the one to find the one that provides a single drive non-raid feature. Same if I get another off the shelve NAS. At the end I just decided to have a separate USB Enclosure for the drives I want to control the formatting options from the PC.
  2. Thanks for pointing out that I could install an alternative OS. Sadly even a NAS using the ext4 filesystem with a single drive, they can choose to use it on top of linux software raid ... like Synology does. So here I need to count with community knowledge, I don't mind to buy another NAS box.
  3. I think that is exactly what I'm trying to avoid. I'm asking for recommendations for a NAS that don't use RAID under the hood for single drives.
  4. I'm looking for a NAS that doesn't add any special sauce when moving drives around, as far as those drives are not part of a RAID. Does "WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra" require any tool to read non RAID drives if you connect them to your PC? I have a Sinology and not being able to directly mount the drives bothers me, sometimes I need to do maintenance on large amount of data.
  5. Sorry about the quote I don't have a lot of experience. I think the O11 has exhaust on the back for the fan. For sure I'm using 360 AIO at least because this is going to have a 5950X and a RTX 3090. I'm worried about the GPU a bit, I probably add a couple fans at the bottom to get new air in for the GPU. So if the Power supply fits I will now request the Mid and return the Mini.
  6. Thanks for the answer thrasher_565. Sure the mid would not work? The difference in price and size is significant. The size is 15x20x8 cm. I'm not sure about the 15 cm high would be too much for the mid, sadly the pictures from the Lian-Li website don't indicate this axis.
  7. I wanted to make a top end build with the Lian-Li O11Dynamic Mini and to my surprise the power supply is too big so I need to return it. Is the O11Dynamic Mid or O11Dynamic XL model compatible? It seems that the Mid model should be enough but I would prefer get some input from someone that knows better than me.
  8. I'm currently working on a SSF build, just wondering what case I could chose that fit a 3090 Founders. I was looking at the Phanteks Evolv Shift Air 2: https://www.digitec.ch/en/s1/product/phanteks-evolv-shift-air-2-small-form-mini-itx-housing-pc-cases-14464129 Also worried about the orientation of the fans, not sure it would be a good fit. Any suggestions?
  9. I hope someone can help, At home we use 4 different systems with a Dock, so I wanted to have my T5P headphones and any random small microphone connected to a small USB sound card. The goal is that anybody using the Dock can benefit from the setup without installing any drivers. I have until now tried 2 small microphones, both of them sound terrible out of the box, producing a lot of artificial noises, the second one 10 times worst that the first one. I have also tried them directly connected to a laptop without being connected to a power cable, same results. Can anybody recommend a decent small microphone, compact USB Card or both together that can filter the noise out of the box, without installing additional software?
  10. Hexgears Gemini Dawn/Dusk seem clones of the Massdrop CTRL that was my favourite until now. Now I have more color options. Thanks ZivZulander It surprising how can they advertise they can make it 40$ cheaper. Is this due to the change from Gateron for Kailh?
  11. Thanks for your feedback! Any other good options you can recommend apart of the one I put if I drop the wireless?
  12. For some reason after spending 3h in amazon and youtube I can't find what I'm looking for. Maybe somebody can make a recommendation? - Must haves US ANSI 10 Key Less layout, with separated arrow keys (with free space on top of them to rest your right hand if you use it for gaming) Hot Swappable switches All keys Programable Backlight keys Full RGB modes and programable USB-C + Bluetooth to use wirelessly on the living room - Nice to have Aluminium/Metallic chasis Comes with Cherry or Gateron browns switches to save me ordering them separately. And I found a prefect match if was not because of the bluetooth : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W4SNXKJ Any suggestions would be very welcome.
  13. Hi everybody, I'm new on the forum, so if I miss any rules please feel free to point me to them, I have not build a PC during the last 10 years so please feel free to correct me. Budget: I don't have a fix budget, but I aim to get a decent price to performance ratio. Location: Switzerland, I mostly check prices and availabilities at https://www.toppreise.ch/ but I can also buy in EUR online shops since some stuff is just difficult to get. AIM: Playing PC Games 4K + Playing Emulators + Complex Photoshop Projects + Make it small enough is not an annoyance to move it from my home office to the Livingroom. I'm aiming to make a Mini-ITX build on a DAN Case. - BOARD/POWER SUPPLY/CASE I'm kind of already set on these parts because I can get a decent deal on them. 120 CHF - MSI B450I Gaming Plus AC (AM4, AMD B450, Mini ITX) 80 CHF - Corsair SF600 (600W) 239 CHF - Dan Cases A4-SFX V4 (Mini-ITX-housing) - CPU Depending on how well the VRM of the Board can support it I would like to go for a 3700X or 3900X. I would like to hear some opinions about it. 357 CHF - 3700X 566 CHF - 3900X - COOLING If the cooler doesn't fit, or is noisy or there is just not good enough, I'm happy to buy a liquid cooling solution. I would like to hear some opinions about it. 120 CHF - 92MM 645LT ASETEK EXTREME CPU LIQUID COOLING BUNDLE WITH NOCTUA FAN - RAM My understanding is that the sweet spot for Ryzen 3 is around 3600, so I can get a 3600 or a 3200 with low timings that I can overlock. I would like to hear some opinions about it. 152 CHF - G.Skill FlareX (2x, 8GB, DDR4-3200, DIMM 288) = 14-14-14-34 Timings, should OC to 3600 easily if needed 120 CHF - 8PACK TEAM GROUP EDITION 16GB (2X8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C14 3200MHZ DUAL CHANNEL KIT - BLACK = CAS 14-14-14-31 Timings, should OC to 3600 easily if needed - Graphic Card I will eventually buy an high end AMD or NVIDIA 20XX card. The SF600 should be good enough padding even with a 12 Core CPU for a 2080 Super, at least when I checked on a TDP calculator. Hope to hear your thoughts, thanks!
