  1. Hi guys, Is it worth upgrading to a ryzen 7 5800x3d? It's on sale now for 369 euros where I live. Currents setup: Rx 5700xt Ryzen 3600 (on a MSI b450m mortar max) 32GB 3200mhz RAM Corsair rm650 psu I use a 240mm rad for cpu cooling. I've seen the cpu can do some good stuff to frametimes and stuttering and I know it likely won't do much to average FPS if at all. Maybe its possibly a good deal for when I want to upgrade to a new gpu in a couple of years. Games that I am currently playing: Warzone League of legends Rocket league Overwatch Some other AAA games like Cyberpunk, RDR, Uncharted, Tomb Raider. So what is your opinion? I'm temped by the new price.
  2. I've seen that a new motherboard connecter standard is coming. Which ditches the 3.3 and 5V rails on power supplies (a 12 pin connector or so). Isn't that something to take in regard to the future? Or can i just buy an adapter cable as I don't think this standard changes anything else than getting rid of those two rails.
  3. Hello, I've been using a Corsair CS650m with my old build and now for about 1.5 years with my newer build. Old build: fx 8320 oc @4.5 MSI twin frozr rx 280x 3G oc @1100mhz New build: r5 3600 (not overclocked) Asus rog rx 5700xt (not overclocked, with the good screws in it) I've seen somewhere that my power supply is ok, but not the best out there. I was wondering if it is fine to continue using it or if I have to spend 100 euro on a new power supply like the corsair rm650x (2019). Thx for the help Edit: I've been using my system daily for a couple hours I would say. Mostly in the evenings and a bit more in the weekends.
  4. Hello everyone, I'm currently looking for a new gaming monitor with good white uniformity. I've already tried the lg ultragear 27gla850 (IPS) (2 of them), but both had very poor white/brightness uniformity (vingentting --> dark edges around the corners) and one had a yellow tint in the left corner. As I use it for studying besides gaming and it’s quite bothering to see when browsing the web or when using Word. I could understand why it’s the best for gaming, but that’s the only good point I can think of when it came to this monitor. Some may have had luck and do not have the problems I had, but I don’t want to try this lottery again. I can live with some ips glow as this is something that’s almost always guaranteed, but I can't live with poor brightness/white uniformity. I’ve also tried the Dell S3220DGF (VA), but this monitor had some degree of black smearing and had a freesync issue where, when you turn it on, starts flickering. Both of these were in the 400-500 euros range. I’m looking to spend somewhere similar, but 100 euros above budget is fine if this gives me the monitor I want. Thank you for your help
  5. It was 17 C in my room and it was in an open case. And the shop even tested and confirmed it.
  6. How about the red dragon of powercolor? Its not available right now though..
  7. Just fyi I returned the card and I'm looking for a different one. The junction temperature got around 110 C with 2500 rpm with those small fans which was kinda loud. The shop where I got it from confirmed this by testing the card. I know its normal for reference cards to get this hot and loud, but according to gamersnexus this card only got 90C at 1600 rpm. This is kinda off-topic but just to let you guys know.
  8. Hey, I've used a gigabyte rx 5700 xt gaming oc, but the junction temperature got too hot (105-110 C) and got very loud because of this (2500rpm with three small 80mm fans) so I decided to return it. This shouldn't happen according to reviews (should be around 90C with 1600 rpm) so I think i had a defective cooler. I'm looking for a different brand this time as I have a bad feeling of getting the same one again. According to the internet more have this problem with the gigabyte variant of the card evan after replacing the thermal paste. I'm currently looking at the following cards: Sapphire pulse (460 euro) Sapphire Nitro (500 euro) Powercolor red devil (500 euro, but not available atm) Is it worth to get the more expensive ones (red devil and nitro) or is the pulse a good enough? Or are there other cards which are better than these?
  9. I've tried to google the "issue" again and found that most with almost identical setups did not have the issue, while only a small percentage do. It is not that widely known i think? I've got a friend with a 3700x, b450mb and a 5700xt who does not have this problem. This kinda bugs me as to why it is happening in my pc.. It happens on every boot (be it cold or not) so I'm not sure if it is good for the gpu fans long term.
  10. Yeah after it posts the gpu fans go to 0 (zero fan feature). But do your gpu fans also ramp up to 100% or do they just turn on?
  11. I already did that. Forgot to mention. I'm on 7B89v23 - AMD ComboPI1.0.0.3abba Latest I can get on the website of MSI
  12. If that is so I hope they change this in a vBIOS or BIOS update in the future. This guy has exactly my problem https://forums.evga.com/RTX-2070-XC-Ultra-Fan-spins-really-loud-at-start-up-before-Windows-loads-m2980506.aspx Fans spin up with his new card and not with his old one. And he even bought a EVGA card
  13. I guess I will have to ignore it then, but the only weird thing to me is when I try booting with my r9 280x its fans will not go to 100. What makes it so that the 5700 does so?
  14. Is there a way to make it less loud? The card didn't do this in my old system... (fx 8320)
  15. I get what you are saying, but according to other threads it is not a vendor specific issue. It also happens to rtx 2060 series (founders) users in combination with a third gen ryzen CPU
