  1. No one found a solution because the gaming generation of DX11 that is the today generation, consider all these problems as "normal". Because they didnt experiment anything else. People like me, who played the generation pre-DX11 are the ones who actually see the difference between before and now, if you ask a 20 yeard old guy about all this, he will tell you "i dont have a clue what you talking about". And since every single youtube video really doesnt show any of this, because it needs to be uncompressed and all youtube videos are compressed, nobody can really see how bad some videogames look these days (and honestly youtube is the primary source of streamers and dumb gamers). More than that, no one found a solution because people keep buying "AAA" games (whatever that means, since i will never consider a game AAA as long as all these problems are present..), people keep buying expensive videocards and screens, so they are telling the gaming industry that they are completely ok with all this. So, not a single company is willing to move a muscle to make an effort to fix this. Of course, not me, im smart and im done since time ago, my last mistake was to spend almost 400$ in a videocard six months ago. But not anymore. I only play pirated games since a few months back, and i dont plan to pay a dime for anything related to the videogaming industry anymore. Today i installed another game i did stop playing because of this called "american truck simulator" because i was curious about how bad was this problem since i left it, and it took me about 1 minute to uninstall it, again lol. The shimmering was so bad that its completely ridiculous people buy this game and there is a community that big, when the game is almost unplayable. Some companies are making efforts to try to fix all this or find a workaround, the guys who made this game arent, but again, the community of that game is so stupid, that they keep growing their arcs selling a videogame that is a shimmering slideshow. And like this case, many many others.... In the case of shimmering and bad aliasing, some games can be played if they have TAA or TXAA and you can use, for example some sharpen filter (like reshade or the nvidia thing) to improve the bluriness of the TAA. But thats about it. There is nothing that can be done about bad shadow casting, flickering, and other issues. So again, i wish people were smart and will stop buying videogames , specially expensive ones (AAA) and expensive hardware. Thats the only way to "tell" companies that people is not ok about how bad videogames look these days. Sadly, as i said, the generation that drives videogame and gaming hardware sells is composed by a dumb young DX11 generation who consider shimmering, bad shadow casting, flickering, bad aliasing, bad LOD generation and other issues, completely normal for the days we live in. Go figure. I tell you. I miss the decade 2000-2010 SO SO MUCH. When videogames looked amazing.
  2. The more resolution you use, the less noticeable problems like bad AA and specially shimmering are going to be. At 3200x1800, those issues will be almost non existent to the human eye. You need to run the games at standard resolutions 1920x1080. More than that, its not a good point of analysis. Also, shadow problems and other issues have nothing to do with resolution. Also, it doesnt matter how high is your AA setting. As long as it is not TAA or TXAA, you will always see shimmering and bad aliasing in every single game that runs under DX11-DX12, vulkan or whatever. Unless again, you using a extreme resolution like 3200x1800, where the issues are still going to be there, but you are almost not going to be able to see em. I play games every day, now with the covid thing i install maybe two or three games every day. Most of them have problems. Bad aliasing and shimmering all of them, unless they use , as i said TAA or TXAA. Shadows look like crap in many of them. Not in all of them, but in most. At this point i really dont care since it is not something that again, we are going to be able to fix not now, not ever. Because this gaming generation is ok with playing games with crapy graphics. Well, they dont know anything else, so its understandable. Ive been playing videogames for more than 25 years already. Its amazing how graphics have degraded in this past decade. Amazing.Of course im not going to buy a single videogame ever again until i see something is done to fix all of this, and of course im not going to waste a single dime on an expensive videocard or screen ever again. I bought my last pc about six months ago, and its going to be the last. Im done.
  3. Still after so many pages people still dont understand that youtube videos will look great ALWAYS, no matter what. Im amazed that people keep debating about this. Unless it is an UNCOMPRESSED youtube video (and you will find only a bunch of them if any at all) you are not going to notice most issues we have been discussing for ages in this thread. But you people love to go in circles. Its amazing. Specially you strider, i mean, you are so clueless that is ridiculous. But you still go in circles debating about the same things over and over again, you love it. Worst thing is, people actually pay attention to your comments, so this thread is going to keep going around forever..
  4. NOBODY fixed it. And nobody will. Not until companies like nvidia or microsoft aknowledge the problem. And they didnt. Because of course, they dont want to. Im pretty sure the problem is a lowered manufacturer cost of the hardware. So, until people stop wasting money on expensive hardware, this issue is never going to be aknowledged. And this thinking is the only common sense thinking that is left after all this coming around and walking in circles.
  5. Until gamers of the dx11 generation recognize this as a "problem", nothing ever will happen. And until people stop wasting ridiculous amounts of money on big screens, expensive videocards and other herbs, nothing ever will change. So, yup, sadly i think this is never going to be fixed, so, the only "solution" is to pick one videogame that looks not so bad and stick to it, or stop buying videogames. That will probably be the best solution, but again, are the dx11 generation gamers the ones who need to make the step. Because those are the ones who think that videogames look perfectly fine these days...and they are the major business , so.
  6. No, because thats a big step, and that will fix absolutely nothing. Also, again (ZZZZZ) someone already tried in half a hundred posts ago. Oh wait...
  7. Bigger problem is, some people like you think that this issue ONLY affects some... we need to start there. EVERY single one has this problem more or less. ALL OF US. The only difference is the videogame playing. Some videogames, thanks to TXAA, other ways of rendering or the game engine itself are able to semi fix or camouflage these issues to a point. Other games are just impossible to play because of how bad they look. So, if you think only a few people are affected by this, well you are clueless, and thats the first problem here. That some people still are clueless about this problem. And again, its not only aliasing issues. Its shimmering, flickering, pop-ins, bad shadow casting, etc, etc. in all frikkin games.
  8. Yeah. You are going to find a fix where nobody in YEARS of hard and persistent trying did. Good luck. rofl (if you succeed every single gamer in the world will thank you... :p) guys, seriously... every single thing you could try, will never work, because its already tried. But you will know this if you bothered to read, again, all the previous pages down to the first one.
  9. More research than in this very forum you will not find anywhere... and no, AGAIN for a thousand times, it is not software related (seriously guys at this point i dont know what to think of you), unless of course you are talking about videocard drivers, thats the only thing that could bring some semi fixes to this problem, but since nvidia is not going to do anything about it, ever (because people keeps giving them money without even be aware of this problem) we will never know.
  10. Thats why i dont post here anymore, sadly. It seems people avoid reading the previous million pages and they jump to the end saying the same nonsense over and over again. Also, i mean, keep reading about people saying that it is an electricity problem at this point, its even more hilarious. Anyways, moving on... i basically dont play games anymore at this point. I just wish dumb people could stop buying expensive videocards and other expensive things with the excuse of "playing AAA" games. The only thing they doing is to keep giving companies no reason to fix anything at all. But as i said, whatever at this point. And they are not playing AAA games since years ago. They just never realized, because they are stupid, unfortunately.
  11. lol.... there is a thing called Google. Use it. You will be surprised how many people complain about this. And again, if you didnt bother to read all the pages before these two last ones... you dont have a clue what we are talking about. You are from the DX11 generation so you obviously think that videogames look perfectly fine these days. Its undestandable. Someone who played videogames only for the last 8 years will never EVER understand what we are talking about. This is not me being a smart ass, it is just common sense.
  12. No. There is not a single reason a new pc should not have all these issues. But you would know this if you bothered to read the trillion pages since the thread was created. This is not about a broken piece of hardware or a faulty videocard. You guys still dont get it..
  13. Better than that losing my eyes due to shimmering. Also there are ways these days to sharpen graphics. Nvidia even introduced already a sharpen method in the panel control. Clearly designed for using in conjunction with TAA. They dont seem to be doing any efforts to solve shimmering problems, or lod problems, or bad shadow casting problems. Instead, they come up with cheap fixes, like this. Now people who complain about TAA being too blurry (im tired of using TAA and i dont see that excessive blurriness people talk about, sure there is a little blurr but its almost not noticeable depending on the game) have a way to sharpen the image. Of course all those games without possiblity of TAA will still be screwed. You can also use reshade to apply sharpen filters. Something i been doing since a long time ago. And by the way, flickering has NOTHING TO DO with TAA. It will happen as well using any other of antialiasing form. And of course it happens without using antialiasing at all. As we said millions of times, these issues are not related to antialiasing. I dont know how many times we need to clarify this. We are talking about antialiasing as ways to aliviate that shimmering and all the other issues. But many people assume that those issues are produced by aliasing... it has nothing to do with it lol. For me as as today, i basically did stop playing any videogames. I mean, its not worthy. I play only three or four games at most, and all of em are almost unplayable due to shimmering, so. Gaming for me is done. The only videogame i had left is euro truck simulator 2 and im about to quit because of the same problem. Sometimes it is just embarrasing how bad the game looks. The most funny thing is yo ugo to the official forums, and many people (of course the official forums are filled with ignorant and condescendent players) keep saying its normal due to ignorance. I just hope those are not the playerbase this game turns around because like other games, things will never change. Unfortunately. But well this is a specific case because the company behind this game is not doing anything since time ago to actually upgrade the game and introduce TAA or other features. The game keeps looking worst and worst in every update, but since playerbase of that game is completely blind, well, it will br a shimmering fest until the game dies (its already incredible that it survived so long already).
