  1. Ah yes, the showing the PC part. I'm going to say it's required as it's listed under Video Requirements on the Gleam website.
  2. Well, South Korea is an ineligible country but North Korea is not. I'm going to say no. I am not a lawyer. Any advice given by me should be considered thoroughly. By accepting this advice, you acknowledge that I am not liable for anything that may occur as a result of following this advice and any consequences are at the fault of the advice recipient and not me, the advice sender. All final contest decisions are made by Linus Media Group and I have no control over their determination of eligibility.
  3. Well, the general point of winning is to go to Linus HQ and build a new PC. Pretty sure you don't literally reboot your PC.
  4. Laptops do count. Several videos have already been made on them, including mine.
  5. I think it needs to be your main PC, the one you use the most. If that's it, then yes, you can make a video.
  6. The contest was extended - the gleam link is the right one. You've got two days, but dang a day of rendering
  7. You can find the ineligible countries when you submit your video on gleam (make sure to do that or your video isn't entered into the contest) but to save you the trip, here's the list. Ineligible countries are Taiwan, South Korea, Portugal, Italy, Austria, China, Russia, Hong Kong, Greece, France, Japan, Spain, Czech Republic.
  8. Australia is eligible, the general consensus is that the decision will be between LMG and ASUS.
  9. Have to agree with this. Even though I'm an American, I wouldn't have made a video if I had known my country wouldn't have been eligible. It should have been made clear from the start what countries were excluded.
  10. At this point, everything in this laptop is outdated and I don't want to invest any money into it. The CPU, hard drive, integrated graphics, it's all an outdated mess. Additional RAM would help, but that's only solving one of the many issues with my laptop (my battery lasts only <30 minutes unless connected to power, a new battery would probably be #1 on my priority list, with RAM being #2). It's fast approaching ten years old at this point, and I'm working to save for a gaming laptop that I can use for both gaming and college (when I get there). Or I get lucky and win ROG Rig Reboot (unlikely, but one can dream). Here's the UserBenchmark results because why not.
  11. That seems to be it. 4GB of hardware memory and another 4GB of page file space. Total, about 8GB of virtual memory (what I assume Win7 was reading) but only 4GB of hardware memory. Thanks for the help!
  12. Assuming this is why Win7 showed an extra 4GB of RAM, was this process stopped in Windows 10? I've definitely noticed a significant slowdown in some tasks after upgrading and I'm not quite sure why.
