So a close friend of mine just donated to me his old MacBook (base model 13 MacBook Pro) and I'm ever so grateful but it does lag during general use. I'll be replacing the hdd and the ram with an ssd and better ram in short order but how do I maintain the os/image and what do I need to do in order to optimize the computer for daily use? Will I need to do a fresh install of the operating system and if so how the fuck do I go about doing that?
It won't be used for much gaming really; if it could handle league of legends then that would be great, but this is mostly going to be a daily use/work computer.
