  1. Hello again, So I just spent about 30 minutes on the phone with customer support and for them it's definitly not software, because when windows shuts down, it does it completely (it only freezes at the last second of shutting down, after the "shutting down" windows screen) plus when it turns back on, I don't get a message like "windows didn't shut down properly last time". So it should exclude a software/ driver issue They believe it's the PSU, maybe a capacitor that has trouble "emptying" and that would explain why I have to wait 3-4 hours before it boots again. They said next time it freezes, turn the PSU off at the back of the case and press the power button for like 30 seconds to close the circuit and maybe it would empty that faulty capacitor, if it solves the problem we will have identified the culprit. And if it doesn't, still try running it with a different PSU for about a day or two and see what happens Do you guys have any other suggestions ? ^^
  2. Hello everyone ? I'm new to this forum and english is not my native language so I'll do my best to make myself clear So, My brother rencently bought some parts to make a brand new machine (we decided to go full custom watercooling this time) here are the specs: -Motherboard: Asus strix x570e -CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X -RAM: G.skill trident Z DDR4 3466MHz CL16 32Go -GC: RTX 2080Ti -SSD: Samsung M.2 NVME 970 evo plus 1To -HDD: 2x seagate firecuda 2To -Power supply: Corsair HX850 80plus platinum Running on Windows 10 64bit I just installed the latest BIOS version this morning (version 1201) I also installed the latest drivers for both the GPU (436.30) and the CPU chipset from the AMD website (amd_chipset_drivers_v1.8.19.0915) We are watercooling the CPU + GPU in a single loop with a 360 radiator, all the parts are from EKWB (i'll try to add some photos) We first received all the parts like mid july, and we first ran the system in only air-cooling to see if all the components were fully fonctionnal and stables (it ran like that for about a week without any problem whatsoever) and then we decided to start building the watercooling system. Once the loop was completed we turned on only the waterpump (standalone D5) for 24h to make sure there were no leaks and then turned the entire system back on So, basically the system is doing fine in the temperatures and overclocking sections (temps at idle are 31°C for the GPU and 32°C for the CPU, it goes up to 57-60°C for the GPU after 15min of furemark, and 65-67°C for the CPU after 15min of AIDA64 stresstest) I'm using the precision boost overdrive settings for the CPU (and ran a stresstest overnight to make shure it war stable) the GPU is stable at 2100MHz (also ran a gpu stresstest overnight) and i ran 2 time the 4pass of memtest86 to make shure there no problems with the RAM The problem is that when I turn the system off, one time out of twenty or thirty, it will just randomly crash. The screen is all black but the computer is still runing, and nothing happens when I long press the power button, I have to shut it down from the powersupply button. Then it won't turn back on again. The only thing that make me able to turn it back on again is... Just waiting (usually for like 2-3hours) and for no apparent reason it will turn on like nothing happened. And I can't reproduce the bug, sometimes it happens when I turn off windows, sometimes it happens when i click the "exit" button on the BIOS, and tonight it even hapened when I left the memtest86 program that was running out an USB bootable image... So i don't think it's a software isue... I tried: - doing a "sfc /scannow" on windows and no errors were found - doing a CMOS clear - like I said I also installed the latest version of the BIOS and the chipset drivers - activating or deactivating DOCP profile for the RAM - activating or deactivating precision boost overdrive, manual or default mode for the CPU - turned off the "fast boot" option on windows and installed the latest windows updates. Regarding hardware, I have 2 other PCs here so I tried: - runing this one from a different PSU (still won't boot, no "bips" no fan turning on or anithing, only the motherboard RGB is on) - shorting out the pins I connected the power button to - pluging a new graphics card to it - with different RAM - disassembling it completely and only pluging the PSU, the motherboard, the CPU and only 1 stick of RAM but NOTHING... still won't boot, the ONLY thing that works is waiting for like 2-3hours and then it turns back on, but after 20-24hours, the problem reappears I sent back the motherboard to the shop I bought it from and after 2 days of testing they said to me it is absolutely fine. I don't know what else to do, i think it may be the CPU but isn't it unlikely given that it runs absolutely stable after a full night of stresstesting and that the problem only appears when I turn the system off ? Plus I don't really want to loose another week sending another part to the customer service (i bought the CPU on a different site, so that's why I could not send it with the motherboard the first time...) the fact that it doesn't even post when i push the power button looks like a hardware problem to me but like I said... event with a different PSU, only the motherboard, the CPU and 1 stick of RAM, all of that out of the case on a non conductive surface and shorting out the two power pins... nothing happens... And i'm getting tired of assembling and desassembling the custom watercooling system x) Thanks in advance for your help ?
