  1. But then wouldn't the Ryzen 5 3600 still be incompatible with my B250 motherboard?
  2. Oh no, this is very unfortunate. Any recommendations?
  3. I'm using a MSI B250 PC MATE for my motherboard. I checked to see if they were compatible, but I could've missed something. Do you think it's just going to need a patch or is it entirely incompatible?
  4. I recently decided to attempt to upgrade to a new CPU. I updated from a Intel i3-3300 to a Intel i5-8400. At this time I also upgraded my HDD to an SSD however that works properly and run completely fine with the old i3 cpu. The problem is that with the i5 installed the computer doesn't launch or boot in any way. When I press the power button the computer launches for a brief second then shuts back down. Monitor doesn't receive any display at all. I've reset the CMOS by taking out the battery on my motherboard and putting it back in, but still the same problem occurs. The computer launches completely fine with all of the same components just different cpu, in fact that's how I'm writing this. Is it pretty much a guarantee that the cpu is dead? I've yet to pull out a multi-meter and actually test it, but any help would be greatly appreciated. I tried the things listed here, which lead me to this post.Motherboard is an MSI B250 PC MATE.
