  1. have patience, you must. and maybe ban disqualify the ones without patience?
  2. you think that's bad? my dad is still using pentium 4 2.8ghz and 2gb ram just for youtube. if its just for worst rig I already won.
  3. I know, its a really bad made video. I'm a literal first timer. also as promised if Linus will pick me I will walkthrough my diskless setup from start to finish hope you pick me!
  4. what's the deadline? what's a good movie editor to use and free?
  5. i bought an addon LAN card with bootrom (you can boot from this LAN) but it doesn't work when I install it on the board that I need it to. it does boot okay in other boards which at first make me think that the pcie slot is gunked (turns out it wasn't). the board reads it fine when I load win7 which makes me think this is a bios or shell issue. any help is appreciated
  6. yes its pcie and not pci. and no, this board only has this one gunked like bunked slot. because I'm cheap.
  7. I badly need to insert a pci 1x device on the only pci 1x slot that my mobo has and the problem is, I think something is stuck on it. I can't easily insert the device and BIOS isn't getting any read from the device. I need something that would remove that gunk. I tried using paintbrush and a mini screwdriver to poke any edges but to no avail.
  8. I don't even know the first thing to do when making a video.
  9. i have a pentium 4, 2gb ddr2, gt9500, 80gb hdd. but if there's one reason why linus should pick me, it's because I'd like to showcase my diskless setup that I use.
  10. I'm using windows 10 1511 due to backwards compatibility and isharedisk as my diskless cafe software. quick explanation: on a diskless LAN environment one PC will act as a "server" to provide a boot image OS (I use win7) to client PCs without a disk. they will get their OS (and games) from the server pc through the wired LAN. really great way to save money on disks. for the most part it runs well but when it doesn't it really doesn't. when it doesn't the client pc (the one requesting boot from server pc) will just wait for boot image in vain. things I remember doing: 1. bcdedit testsigning on 2. gpedit.msc -> always run in admin mode 3. regedit -> enable LUA (also a big F for not completely disabling UAC) 4. disable windows defender 5. restore windows photo viewer 6. adding exception to the exe in firewall things to ask: 1. should I run "iscsi initiator" ? 2. should I add tftp in control panel -> programs -> add/remove windows components? 3. is there a way to disable checkdisk startup in win7? no matter what I do it will ask for a disk check in my games partition drive (F: and G:). and this is despite not seeing any errors.
  11. huh? it's at the same drive? and by that logic shouldn't moving files in same partition be just as that slow?
  12. and why isn't it as instant as when moving files on the same drive on the same partition? what made having multiple partitions made it that much a difference?
  13. fixed. pretty much everything is fixed. drivers are up too. i miss windows photo viewer and picture manager though.
  14. aaand I've decided to go to 1511. gtx1070 won't install on versions lower than this according to https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/gtx-1070-not-compatible-windows-10/#solution2 I'll let you know what happens after this. gotta sleep.
  15. I do remove the 2nd SSD from its plug when I go back to win7 just to be perfectly sure. the last thing I'd want is to shit up my win7 install. I could care less about the win10 bootloader when I can't get to desktop. as for 1803, I dunno, I get the feeling that I'd suffer the same fate. my ryzen is rather old. my bets are on backwards compatibility. as for security updates, nah that's far from priority. I'm not normie enough to buy in to the whole Y O U R C O M P U T E R M I G H T B E A T R I S K
