Is possible to control the brightness of a monitor (similar to the buttons on the physical monitor) but from the software in the computer?

Hi there, I have a viewsonic vp3268-4k monitor and I am trying to run some calibrations on it with an EIZO sensor. Is there any way to get the sensor to auto calibrate? It seems like the monitor does not allow for control over its hardware brightness from the software. Thanks!
