  1. I am upgrading my card and currently looking at a 3080 after much too and throwing... My question is whats the real difference between say: ASUS GeForce RTX 3080 10 GB ROG Strix GAMING Graphics Card ASUS GeForce RTX 3080 10 GB ROG Strix GAMING OC Graphics Card What does the OC give you the other doesn't and is it worth it? And I mean in general not just specifically for this 1 card. Background I have converted the space under my stair case into a gaming man cave I want a good cooling system that is quiet and trying to hit 140 frames with my 144hz monitor on 1440p high settings. I need the fans to run kind of quiet as i have the door open and its close to my wife who reads/watches TV. I would rather the card ran stable than erratic or high temp constantly. Thank you for reading.
  2. Budget (including currency): £1500ish Country: England Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 1440p gaming and school/Uni work Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): 3700x on stock cooler, 2070 super gaming x trio, asus x570 strix board, nvme samsung 1gb ssd, 2gb samsung sata, corsair rmx 750w psu, 570 corsair case My plan is to upgrade maybe cpu and gpu in my build and give that to my son and build him a 1440p gaming pc. At first i thought just give him my gpu and get myself a 3070 upgrade but i dont know if i will get bottle necking on my 3700x and might be better getting myself a 5800x... at first i planned on his build being 3600x and my 2070super... really stuck as not sure what to do... not even sure about what case to get for him either
  3. Does anyone know how to sync the RGB of my MSI NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8GB GAMING X TRIO in iCUE please? The box of my GPU says its compatible i just cant find any instructions... thanks.
  4. Thanks for the reply. So I had the build checked and took videos and pictures. I contacted a vlogger for help they said it was a faulty psu with the cross polarisation thing.. I have no idea cables or psu I'm sorry only doing what I was told. I rebuilt the unit again and it worked fine with new motherboard and psu... I wish I had plugged something in wrong as it would put me out my misery although I have been told I didn't everything was correct.
  5. So yes the whole thing is still unresolved with corsair. I sent the first one back and noticed the black marker pen it was mistaken for burn mark. When the second came out I was still talking to corsair I told them and the retailer about the marks again on the replacement and they said return that too. The third had them on again when the retailer said do what ever corsair reccomend and corsair didn't know what to do. I tried it last night and it worked fine.
  6. Ok so I've had conversation through a ticket for over 3 weeks. Back and forth. This is my 3rd power supply because my first was faulty with a cross polarisation issue that blew up my motherboard. I was told if the psu damaged any other component they wouldn't replace them (I know now that the other parts are all fine apart from the mothrboard I didn't then) I was told by somebody else I was told wrong later on they would do a damage claim and replace anything else that was damaged. Over the 3 weeks they could not explain the cabling they told me to return it to the retailer. I have phoned them up in the US from here in the UK twice... I work early mornings so this meant i was going to bed alot later... real pain.. still nobody has got back to me suppose to have been passed on to a psu expert... I have made 2 videos on youtube for them and sent at least 20 pictures I would of expected them to firstly sell me a working power supply in the first place. 2nd have better customer service for the UK. 3 have an idea about their own products.
  7. First time builder well thisnisnmy second build my first one blew up due to faulty psu or motherboard. So I had to reapply my own thermal paste on the wraith prism 2 can anyone tell me if this is ok? Probably used 2 rice grain amounts and rubbed it all over. Thanks
  8. Hi sorry for the late reply been really busy. It's a corsair rm750x I'm still waiting for corsair to get back to me. Not really impressed with them if I'm honest.
  9. This is the 2nd I've had with these marks all over the keys... closer look they look used. I am from the UK I had to phone the US phone number to speak to somebody they are investigating this something strange is going on here. Dont forget the first one blew up my PC.
  10. Ok long story short I built a pc the power supply was bad and blew up my motherboard. Rma the psu and they sent out another one with similar Mark's on the cables could be pen? Anyone else had this... the cables look used too... strange the box was sealed in plastic...
  11. Does the SOC VRM mean anything to you? after watching reviews and break downs of this board that's the location of where the damage is. Thanks for the help.
  12. I bought the psu from a uk company so sent it to them to get tested the motherboard I bought from czech republic. What is FETs or caps please? Someone said the burn on motherboard was solid state capacitors and this might have been caused by a reverse polarisation... I wasnt sure tho if that meant psu or motherboard at fault with something like that.
  13. I guess I'm going to have to send the gpu away also then. I cant see any burn marks on it and we tried a friends computer the rbg did light up but it stayed on some screen for a while. He said it could be a fault with his pc...
  14. PayPal told me to use them and send it back or I wouldn't get my money back.
