  1. I don’t need anything from the hdd at all the problem is that the windows installation usb will indentify the ssd when I boot from the usb but the motherboard doesn’t identify it in the bios. I tried doing the steps where I boot windows with uefi only in the bios so that it downloads the stuff that makes the motherboard identify it but even then the bios still won’t identify it. The main problem here is that I can’t boot from the SSD; not because it doesn’t work but because the motherboard doesn’t identify it in the bios or boot menu
  2. I updated it a day after I got this problem, I’m not too good with bios updates but I have a asus prime b350 plus and it has an m.2 slot shared with sata 5 and 6, so I switched the hdd to 4 and then just took it out of the equation completely
  3. After installation. The uefi only setting is turned on but either way, the ssd is identified during installation, however it won’t actually start windows. When I plug my HDD back in and check the SSD it actually has all the folders for windows but something doesn’t let me boot windows from the SSD
  4. It doesn’t work, I’d boot from the SSD but it isn’t identified in the boot menu
  5. So I recently bought a Samsung EVO 970 Nvme M.2 SSD. It's 1TB and I wanted to switch it out with my hard drive for windows so everything would work faster, however although when I install windows I see it as an option, it will not actually boot up windows and it also isn't being detected by my motherboard, I have an ASUS Prime B350 Plus, I've tried changing it to UEFI mode and then installing windows and then changing it back so it'd be detected but it still hasn't worked. Thoughts? (plz help )*: ) EDIT: I managed to fix it by downloading Ubuntu, making a new partition through that and then downloading windows. Don't know why that was the only solution but it works now so thanks for the replies anyways!
