  1. As you only seem to be gaming in what appears to be lighter titles and have a 1080p@60Hz display, it may be better to cheap out on the GPU and save some budget for, if you need, more storage. You can probably also get away with the stock cooler on the 5600X and reallocate even more budget. With the savings, I would try to aim for a 1TB NVMe SSD (they're pretty cheap right now) and 2 or more TB's of HDD storage. Hope this helps.
  2. Yes, I am aware of this but I'm trying to purchase out of convenience. My system is compatible with everything below USB 4 and thunderbolt. The faster the better but the main focus is simplicity within the available speed.
  3. Looking for a simple high speed desktop peripheral hub that will mostly be used for things like flash drives and sd cards. Nothing fancy like display outputs, just high speed connectivity. Any suggestions?
  4. Extend does not function like Collage or similar. Collage and other software like it combine desktops to act as 1 individual display.
  5. To sort of echo what other's have said, your best bet for screen durability is going to be based on the glass its attached to, so look for a phone with higher gorilla glass specs for example. Other than that, a good screen protector and case go a long way. That being said, between the two technologies it could be a toss up either way. LCD is usually much thicker and possibly more durable in at of itself, however OLED is thin enough to be a bit pliable (think new foldable phones) which also could allow for a thicker glass shield.
  6. Short story, I have 3 displays. 1 connected VIA HDMI regularly, the other 2 using USB to dual HDMI adapter VIA DisplayLink driver. Problem is, the Intel display manager that I would in theory be using the Collage mode with, only recognizes displays using it's driver. Is there a third party app that can do the same thing on a system level or something like that?
  7. Something to look out for. I have seen smaller, but they won't perform nearly as good as this. This is specifically for connecting to existing network infrastructure
  8. I was hoping for something a fair bit smaller, but I might be reaching a little too far.
  9. I'm looking for the smallest POE WAP with decent speed and reliability. I want it to be simple and small enough to carry around in a bag.
  10. It's just starting to show It's age, that and I bought it second hand. With work ramping back up I would like an upgrade. Yeah I get that but it's kind of a low priority for me.
  11. So I'm looking for an upgrade for my Note 9, an obvious choice would be a newer Note but just like Linus himself I never considered them to be worthy upgrades. The hardware: high resolution (around QHD) OLED display, more interested in quality then high refresh rate, though that would be an added bonus. Really good camera. Fiingerprint scanner ON THE REAR of the phone. Stylus. Modern processor and decent RAM 6-8 gb. Upgradeable storage, headphone jack, and a decent OS. If I think of any other criteria I'll add it in.
  12. Sorry for the delayed responses. Will look into those, thanks. Ok thanks. I'll definitely have a look, thanks.
  13. The 3600 is compatible with pretty much all AM4 motherboards, and basically all ddr4 ram should work as well. Obviously a gpu upgrade would make the biggest difference but it's probably the right move to save that 1 for a later date when the prices aren't outrageously high.
  14. [Copied from reddit] So to start budget. I'm thinking about 130 USD but with a bit of wiggle room. Ideally these would be somewhat portable. I plan on purchasing something like the Fiio btr5, but I would want it to work on something like my Galaxy Note 9, or even an ipod nano (wired if it wasn't clear). In terms of sound, im not exactly a bass head, but I don't want it to be super analytical or sparkly either, so basically something balanced and comfortable. I would like a wide sound stage, but I should probably focus on that with an open back at a later date. Really I just want a comfortable, balanced and tight sound. I am somewhat new to the audiophile game, so it's possible I simply don't know what I really want, so feel free to leave suggestions even outside of what I mentioned including price wise. And also feel free to give multiple suggestions, I like having options. Anyway, thanks in advance!
  15. Trying to upload it to a cloud computing platform, but they only allow 10gb. I already messed around with it a bit adding specific drivers necessary for said platform but as you can tell i hit a wall.
  16. As the title implies can I remove 1 of these files to shrink my iso, as it's too large for what I need?
  17. Never mind I figured it out. I couldn't find the Deployment and imagined tools environment, because im an idiot, and now I can.
  18. Hope this is the right place for this. I'm trying to rebuild a windows iso with vitio drivers, this is one of the finale steps. See below. When I enter the command, altering it for my file structure, it just says it doesn't recognize Oscdimg as an internal or external command. I have the sdk installed. Any ideas?
  19. While im happy to hear your input, it doesn't exactly answer my question, or maby i wasn't clear. But really what I'm trying to evaluate is media FOR streaming, meaning it will be streamed from 1 location to another. In my case using Jellyfin.
  20. As of now that isn't an issue. This is very helpful info. It does have an app for both Android and ios, which im assuming both DO support h265, but some TVs and other clients don't have an app and need to use the browser.
  21. Firstly, I have no idea where to put this so feel free to tell me where to move it. Now for my question, is there ever a benefit to using h264 over h265? Obviously h265 takes up less space and is more efficient, but h264 isn't dead yet leaving me to believe there is still a use for it. Maby in terms of device compatibility or something like that. If it matters the media files in question are going to be streamed from Jellyfin (open source Plex alternative).
  22. So this is something I found in HWinfo. It seems that my vega 56 has 5 encoders built in. So does that mean that for my Emby (free plex alternative) server, encoding to 5 users at once should not be an issue or am i reading something wrong? Other GPU's report similar info but with only 1 encoder.
