  1. I bought it on ebay however it was from a certified user with thousands of positive reviews and he contacted me instantly of letting him know of the problem and gave me a few suggestions like switching to a older BIOS. He told me he fully tested it before selling it to me and had many photos to back it up, and I can always return it if it really is the CPU that isn't working right. So unless it somehow managed to break during the shipping process or the seller just happened to lie to me even though I can easily return it, I don't think its the CPU messing up here... BTW thankyou for trying to help I really appreciate it since I've been at this all day and really just want to sleep at this point lol
  2. I updated to the most recent version of my BIOS which was 2305 (the 4790k needs 2001 and above) and I chose the 4790K because it had a higher clock speed of 4.0Ghz
  3. Hello and thank you for reading as I could REALLY use some help right now... so I just got a Intel i7-4790k cpu and I put it into my current pc switching out my old i5-4430. When I started the pc up, everything turned on in the computer, but neither my monitor or my mouse and keyboard detected my pc. I made sure to update the bios before installing the cpu and definitely installed it right even with some new thermal paste. After waiting a few minutes I swapped the cpu back to my 4430 and it booted and worked instantly. My motherboard is the H81I-Plus and it says the 4790k is compatible so i’m not too sure what the issue could be besides something to do with the cpu.. Oh and I also tried clearing the CMOS to reset my BIOS and that didn’t work either.. ANY ATTEMPT AT HELPING WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED as I am pretty much all out of juice at this point..
