  1. Umm, I need to access my ip website for that and I can't sign in, is it essential to know?
  2. @Falcon1986Not sure if that's the info you want, but it says "Qualcomm Atheros AR956x Wireless Network adapter" under wifi settings. I'm trying to find out where to see this info, I'll let you know when I find it. Absolutely, doesn't work. it's like this laptop doesn't recognize the network except as ethernet wired.
  3. Hello! So I have a laptop. 6 months ago, I started using an ethernet cable and everything was working good. Then I noticed that every time I unplug the ethernet (to move to another room) my laptop fails to detect my wifi. Usually I just restarted the PC and it worked. However it was not a good solution since my restarting process takes a long time (I have an HDD storage). And here I thought it can't go any worse, so my brother tried to fix it 3 days ago (probably just troubleshooting) and now restarting won't work anymore. NOTE: 1_ My laptop detects every other wifi within our building with no issues. 2_ Other devices in my house are connecting to the router via wifi normally. Thanks for your time.
  4. @Moonzy No lags so far, that's it (hopefully). Thank you!
  5. Should I download it from Nvidia website or will Gforce experience do the job?
  6. Something happened to my laptop and I need help. So I was playing Hearts of Iron 4 and I left the laptop for hours, when I returned the game crashed, I tried to close the game normally, but that didn't work, neither could the task manager handle this task, so I was left with no choice but to click on the power button and shut down the laptop by force. When I launched the laptop again, the problem was over, however another problem started, every time I open a simple game/program, fps drops happen all the time (not permanent tho, every like 2 mins it comes 20 secs and disappears). This problem happened to me before, and I solved it by formatting the whole PC (to the point where it asked me what Region and language do I want), so with this problem happening again, you can imagine how sad and disappointed I am. Is there any other solution aside from doing a complete format? If formatting is the only way, do I have to format all the files or can I keep them? Thanks for your time
  7. UPDATE: I formatted the PC and the fps drop disappeared, maybe the reason was having too many apps running in the background, or a virus, or some kind of unwanted software. But yea, I'm so glad I can run my games smoothly, moreover, the temperature barely peaks at 74c! Anyways, thank you guys for trying to help.
  8. It must be an HDD, however, I have been gaming on this laptop for like 3 years and this lag never happened.
  9. I use MSI afterburner, it never went above 80c,
  10. Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50GHz NVIDIA GeForce 930MX Intel(R) HD Graphics 620 8.0 GB RAMS Windows 10
  11. if you mean my operating system, then it is windows 10 and up-to-date. I don't believe the problem is heat-related since it hits as soon as I enter the game (I mean before the laptop starts heating up). Power limits... I never changed any settings related to it so this can't be it, I also made sure that I am running on full performance and no battery saver thingy is on. The drivers... maybe, should I update them?
  12. So I recently started experiencing a weird type of lag. Once I enter a game, everything goes smooth, a minute later, a sudden fps drop hits the game, not only the screen lags, but the sound too. It usually lasts for like 30 secs. In games like GTA V, it is not a big deal since it only happens once. However, it might be unbearable when it comes to games that require changing the map frequently like Overwatch. If I enter a map, it lags... when I return to the menu, it lags... when I enter a new game, it lags. Do you have any idea where the problem is from? And how to fix it?
  13. Well, my friends recommended me to buy a laptop cooling pad. But I won't unless the temp reaches a dangerous zone that affects my PC gaming performance / lifespan
  14. Nvidia 930 mx What about 80? does it shorten the life span?
  15. Greetings! Recently, I noticed that my laptop is heating up a little while gaming (overwatch), so I decided to keep an eye on the GPU temperature to see how bad it is, Overwatch offers an in-game temperature monitor (just like the fps and ms), but it doesn't make sense, it seems inaccurate. So my first question is: What app do you recommend me to use to observe both fps and temperature (also, I want it to be a simple app that doesn't affect the PC performance) My second question is: what is the safe-zone when it comes to the GPU temperature? Thanks for your time!
  16. I'm sorry, I used the wrong word, he means I should not treat my laptop like a desktop.
  17. I won't use this app if the laptop isn't plugged in, will this still affect the battery?
  18. I always keep my laptop plugged with the charger, so I don't think the battery is being used here, I'm more concerned about the other laptop parts (draining the graphics card performance or something like that).
  19. Recently I bought wallpaper engine from Steam for these generous Sakura animated wallpapers. I am using a laptop with core i5 7th gen, 930mx and 8 RAMs. My brother told me that having these extra features like the animated wallpaper will drain the laptop's performance (despite setting my wallpaper engine settings to pause when I'm in full-screen mode). And he said that it will decrease the laptop life-span, causing it to start lagging sooner. He also mentioned that this app is mainly directed to PCs not laptops, since I can change the PC parts if it started lagging, while I have to change the whole laptop if something happened to any part to it. So I have to avoid taking the risk. What do you think guys? Should I stay safe or go for it?
  20. You are right, they are not that bad. But still, why would I get an expensive UW monitor just to play as a regular one. It seems that games that don't support 21:9 are so rare, so I guess this won't be a problem.
  21. @Slottr thanks for the info, I found my answer
  22. I play a lot of games, if gaming on it is much better in games that support it (like CS:GO), then maybe I can tolerate playing with black borders in games that don't support it.
  23. So I was aiming to get an ultrawide, 21:9, 1440p, 144hz monitor. The product name is "lg 34gk950f-b". The reason I want it is to get a better gaming experience. This monitor is much more expensive than a regular 1440p 144hz monitor, but is surely worth the extra money..... or is it? I was doing some research about it, and I was shocked to know that many games (like Overwatch or dark souls 3) don't support 21:9, however most newly released games does support it. The thing is, the only way to play games like Overwatch on this monitor, is to play it as if your monitor is 16:9, leaving you with irritating black borders on the edges. So I came here to ask you, is it worth it to get this monitor? Or should I just go with 16:9 instead?
